Job Description

Amazon & Walmart Ads Manager

Direct Digital LLC

Role Description We are looking for a senior, data-driven, strategic, and hands-on Amazon & Walmart Ads Manager to own both the growth strategy and day-to-day execution of advertising initiatives across Amazon and Walmart's retail media platforms. This role is critical to scaling our collagen product line, expanding overall brand presence, and turning sales goals into smart media investment across Amazon Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP and Walmart Connect campaigns. As the in-house expert for Amazon and Walmart advertising, you will partner cross-functionally with performance marketing, creative, and e-commerce teams to: - Develop high-performing strategies - Operate directly in the platforms - Manage budget pacing and spend allocation - Deliver measurable sales growth and ROI The right person must be hands-on-keyboard while also making senior-level decisions about budget, spend, and how advertising investment should drive marketplace sales. What You’ll Be Doing: Campaign Strategy & Execution - Own the retail media growth strategy for Amazon and Walmart, translating sales targets into spend plans, budget pacing, campaign priorities, and SKU-level investment decisions. - Manage sales and advertising spend together, knowing when to push spend to capture demand, ranking momentum, promotional windows, or share-of-voice opportunities, and when to pull back or reallocate to protect profitability. - Operate hands-on in Amazon Ads Console, Amazon DSP, Walmart Connect, and related tools while setting the strategic roadmap, test agenda, and investment recommendations for leadership. - Own end-to-end management of Amazon ad campaigns including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and Amazon DSP. - Lead Walmart Connect advertising, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Display campaigns. - Develop media strategies and test plans tailored to drive awareness, traffic, conversions, profitable sales growth, and marketplace share across multiple product lines on both platforms. - Establish and optimize full-funnel campaign structures to maximize performance and efficiency. Performance Analysis & Optimization - Monitor key metrics including ACOS, ROAS, TACoS, CTR, and conversion rates for both Amazon and Walmart to identify optimization opportunities. - Analyze the relationship between ad investment and total marketplace sales, including TACoS, organic rank impact, incrementality, margin, inventory position, and category/share trends. - Implement data-backed A/B tests (e.g., bid strategies, targeting types, creatives) and iterate based on results. - Create weekly/monthly reporting dashboards and actionable insights for internal stakeholders covering both retail media channels. - Deliver forward-looking recommendations on budget increases, decreases, and reallocations based on sales goals, efficiency, seasonality, promotions, inventory, and margin. - Build clear narratives around performance so leadership understands where spend is creating incremental sales and where strategy needs to change. Collaboration & Communication - Partner with the creative team to brief and iterate on high-performing ad creatives for different ad types and formats. - Work closely with e-commerce and retail teams to align advertising strategies with inventory, promotions, and pricing across marketplaces. - Present strategic points of view and spend recommendations to leadership, clearly explaining tradeoffs between growth, efficiency, profitability, and marketplace share. Market & Tool Expertise - Stay informed on Amazon and Walmart platform updates, policy changes, and competitor trends. - Leverage tools such as Amazon Ads Console, Amazon DSP, Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), Walmart Connect, and third-party platforms like Perpetua, Quartile, or Pacvue for campaign management and insights. Qualifications - 5-7+ years of hands-on experience managing Amazon Ads, including senior ownership of strategy, budgeting, and performance outcomes, and at least 2 years managing Walmart Connect campaigns. - Demonstrated success managing both PPC (Sponsored Products/Brands) and programmatic display campaigns across multiple marketplaces. - Proven track record of driving profitable marketplace growth, with accountability for ROAS, TACoS, total sales, and spend efficiency. - Experience managing meaningful media budgets with responsibility for sales growth, spend pacing, budget forecasts, and profitable revenue outcomes. - Strong strategic judgment: able to determine when incremental spend is likely to create incremental sales, category rank improvement, or share gains versus when spend should be constrained or reallocated. - Deep knowledge of Amazon Ads Console, Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), Walmart Connect, and programmatic ad buying tools. - Ability to move fluidly between high-level planning and hands-on execution inside the ad platforms. - Expertise in analytics and data manipulation using Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools. Preferred Skills - Experience in a DTC or CPG brand environment is strongly preferred. - Familiarity with collagen or health & wellness products is a plus. - Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data, strategic tradeoffs, and investment recommendations in a clear, actionable way. Benefits - Fully remote company, able to hire from across the US and Canada. - Health insurance benefits, basic life insurance, and access to affordable vision, dental, and disability insurance. - Unlimited Paid Time Off for salaried employees and a generous amount of paid time off accrual for hourly employees. - Paid maternity and paternity leave offered. - Free Ancient Nutrition products.
