TreatwellTransforming the way the hair and beauty community and their clients connect.
• Drive Marketplace outcomes • Co-own and drive outcomes with the Head of Product, setting clear, outcome-focused goals. Support teams in exploring the problem space, applying engineering judgment to shape pragmatic solutions, slicing thin and making timely decisions that shorten feedback loops, improve speed to market, strengthen customer and venue value, and deliver measurable business impact. • Set the technical direction for the Marketplace area together with architects and engineers. Use guilds as the primary mechanism to shape and scale technical direction and practices, raising the bar on reliability, maintainability, performance and security so teams can move fast with confidence. Drive consistency across Marketplace teams and alignment with other areas through shared principles, guardrails and learning. • Deliberately grow engineering managers and senior individual contributors within Marketplace. Ensure teams are planned and staffed with the right skills to deliver effectively today and as the area's needs evolve. Own hiring, succession planning and talent development for the area, while coaching leaders to be effective people leaders, technical decision-makers and area-level owners who help teams move forward. • Remove organisational and technical barriers that slow Marketplace teams down, reduce toil and improve day-to-day delivery. Partner closely with Platform to evolve shared foundations for CI/CD, observability and operational excellence. Drive responsible use of AI tooling to increase productivity and shorten feedback loops, while strengthening quality, security and incident management so teams can deliver and operate with confidence. • Champion inclusivity, transparency and continuous improvement across Product, Design and Engineering as equal partners in delivery. Know the state of every active project and surface risk before it becomes a fire. • Own delivery metrics. Cycle time, review latency, and reliability. Use them humanely, not as a stick. • Command incidents. Be the first escalation when something breaks, coordinate the response, and run a blameless RCA that actually changes something. • Grow the team. 1:1s, coaching, and a hiring pipeline that holds a high bar (job descriptions, scorecards, screens). • You own outcomes. Not the most code. The most shipped, on time, at quality.
