• Deliver advanced second-tier technical assistance to end users across PC, server, mainframe, storage, and associated hardware and software environments. • Serve as the primary point of contact for local server, network, and telecommunications repair activities supporting District infrastructure components. • Administer, manage, and maintain current and future Microsoft (MS) Windows Server operating systems across both physical and virtual environments. • Support hardware and software technology refresh efforts, ensuring compliance with established milestones while coordinating with application owners to minimize operational disruption. • Adhere to established change management principles and procedures on a daily basis, including drafting formal Change Requests and obtaining required approvals. • Assist with storage and data management activities, with a specific focus on file and folder permission administration. • Implement applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and remediate identified security vulnerabilities. • Support the operational transition of enterprise solutions into the production environment, ensuring stability and continuity of services. • Work Remedy incident and service request tickets, providing initial triage and analysis of complex issues prior to escalation or resolution.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
  • PhD with no prior related experience required
  • Current 8570 Information Assurance (IA) Baseline Certification at IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Ability to obtain the applicable 8570 IA Computing Environment (CE) certification within six (6) months of hire
  • Experience using Remedy or a comparable IT service management/ticketing system
  • Demonstrated professional experience administering Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016
  • Demonstrated experience working with VMware virtualization technologies
  • Working knowledge of core infrastructure technologies and services, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and DFS, with the ability to maintain other core Windows services
  • Strong understanding of NTFS file share permissions
  • Foundational understanding of authentication mechanisms such as Kerberos and LDAP
  • Basic networking experience, including TCP/IP, routing, SSH, and OpenVPN
  • Proven ability to coordinate with and obtain cooperation from multiple IT functional areas to complete assignments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on clearly defined tasks
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

The role: The GRC Control Automation Specialist automates cybersecurity compliance, reducing manual effort and increasing audit reliability. This role blends risk management, cybersecurity operations, and automation engineering to streamline evidence collection and control validation, crucial for SoFi's growth and regulatory demands. The specialist will also manage due diligence inquiries, leveraging automation platforms to scale operations and accelerate business opportunities. Collaboration with control owners, engineers, and audit teams is key to identifying automation opportunities, implementing scripts or integrations, and validating outputs against frameworks like PCI DSS, SOX, and SOC 2. This position supports continuous control monitoring and audit readiness. What you’ll do: - Design and architect technology and cybersecurity controls monitoring and testing function, leveraging enterprise compliance automation platforms, agentic AI, tools and workflows. - Implement automated monitoring (anomaly detection) and surveillance methods to ensure systems operate within defined guardrails - Create risk and compliance dashboards, remediation performance metrics, ticketing criteria, remediation queue monitoring, tracking, measuring and communicating key performance activities for Technology and Cybersecurity library of controls - Automate manual cybersecurity and compliance controls and administration of the compliance automation platform for audit support (e.g.,SOC 2, SOX, PCI DSS). - Develop automated control enforcement mechanisms (e.g., scripts, APIs, policy checks), integrating controls as code logic into CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and endpoint tools. - Enable continuous control monitoring (CCM) by developing reusable logic and ensuring automated controls produce auditable evidence. - Support internal and external audits by providing access to accurate automated evidence and system logs. - Analyze automated test gaps, distinguishing false positives from true findings, and driving remediation. - As required, collaborate with security, engineering, business and other stakeholders to collect security questionnaire responses. - Maintain a control automation backlog and document all automated control logic.
