Role Description Gilbane Building Company is seeking an experienced Senior Proposal Specialist to lead strategic proposal and marketing activities within our Federal Division. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional who excels at managing complex pursuits, crafting compelling content, and driving brand visibility. As a key member of our marketing team, you will work independently and collaboratively to develop high-impact proposals, campaigns, and communications that resonate with our federal clients. Responsibilities - Leads the development and production of client qualifications, proposals, and presentations with a focus on quality, creativity, and meeting client deadlines independently. - Manages content development and pursuits process directly with the Business Development (BD) team. - Crafts compelling story content about clients, projects, people, and Gilbane and incorporates these differentiators into deliverables that address the unique client needs. - Ensures all external content and client deliverables align with Gilbane’s brand standards and messaging guidelines. - Participates in presell meetings and strategic brainstorms. - Leads the development and execution of marketing campaigns, branded content, awards and speaking submissions, and local event support to increase Gilbane’s market visibility. - Leads the development of internal and external communications including newsletters, press releases, website content, social media posts, eblasts, and content for other digital channels. - Oversees the organization and maintenance of digital assets, ensuring efficient categorization and searchability while providing guidance and support to entry-level team members. - Leads data maintenance for assigned geography to ensure data integrity. - Conducts research for the different market sectors to understand our clients including who they are, what’s top of mind and key trends; analyzes, interprets, and communicates research with BD partners and local leadership as needed. - Leads close-out process of sales and marketing deliverables. - Develops a strong knowledge of the AEC industry and Gilbane’s capabilities across each sector, locally and nationally. - Builds and maintains a robust operational network to facilitate storytelling and identify value adds about our projects. - Visits jobsites regularly to enhance operational partnerships, take photos, and interview project teams for future content opportunities; ensures content is organized and cataloged for future use. - Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality external content and client deliverables, ensuring clear communication, mutual support, and a cohesive approach to problem-solving. - Mentors, coaches, and trains less experienced team members. - Leads multiple deliverables concurrently and has a strong ability to multi-task independently. - Participates in professional or community organizations and begins to explore opportunities for committee or other leadership opportunities. - Stays abreast of new marcom trends and tools. - Supports a positive and inclusive work environment. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. - 5-7 years of proposal experience within the federal defense construction sector. - Or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Strategic and technical content writing experience is a must. Requirements - Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office and MS Teams are required; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite desired. - Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills; excels in working independently and collaboratively in a team; advanced writing and critical thinking skills; strong at process management. - Mastery of Gilbane services and advanced knowledge of construction management and industry awareness as a whole.
