Controller – Senior Accountant Contractor

• Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting operations across multiple entities • Maintain accurate general ledger records and chart of accounts • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts • Prepare journal entries and lead month-end close processes • Produce financial reports and operational reporting for leadership • Maintain and audit financial records in QuickBooks Online • Monitor customer balances, collections, and open invoices • Track commissions and manage partner-related accounting • Proactively identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues • Improve accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls • Build and maintain SOPs and process documentation for the finance function.
Job Requirements
- QuickBooks Online (5+ years required): 5+ years minimum, active QuickBooks Online experience
- Accounting Experience (5+ years): 5+ years of hands-on, full-cycle accounting experience
- Controller or Senior Accounting Title: Controller, Contralora, Contadora General, or equivalent senior accounting title in a prior or current role
- Multi-Entity Experience: Experience managing accounting for 3 or more legal entities simultaneously
- Advanced English (B2 minimum, C1 preferred): Must be able to communicate in writing and verbally with U.S.-based leadership without translation support.
- Remote U.S. Work Experience: Must have functioned as the accounting owner for a U.S. company or U.S.-based client—not just international exposure or incidental contact with U.S. teams.
- Accrual Accounting: Strong accrual accounting knowledge including revenue recognition, prepaid amortization, depreciation, and period-end adjustments.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets: Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
- Independent Work Ethic: Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a high-growth environment with minimal supervision.
