Job Requirements
- You understand both user needs and business requirements and can translate insights from user research, market analysis, and data into pragmatic solutions.
- You have experience with complex digital products and systems, for example with multiple modules, extensive features, or complex data structures.
- You work closely with developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders such as Sales or Support, and can incorporate technical constraints and business goals into your work.
- You communicate clearly, question existing assumptions constructively, and can persuasively present your proposed solutions.
- You are fluent in German and English. User interviews are regularly conducted in German.
Benefits
- Work from our office in the heart of Berlin, from our location in Hamburg, from our offices in Paris, or from any WeWork location in Europe.
- With a full-remote contract, you receive a home office budget and a monthly subsidy for coworking spaces.
- In addition to 25 days of paid vacation, you receive between 8 and 13 additional days off per year.
- Access to Busuu to improve your English or learn a new language.
- State-of-the-art Apple hardware for your day-to-day work.
- A vibrant community with group sports activities such as football, running, or climbing.
- Regular team events, after-work evenings, and our popular rooftop drinks in Berlin.
- An annual company offsite — most recently we spent time together at Center Parcs and had a great time.

MapMy products help members track workouts, discover routes, set goals, and stay motivated across a range of fitness activities. We are hiring a Senior Product Designer, MapMy to set the design vision across the MapMy product portfolio and to define what modern, AI-accelerated design practice looks like within our organization. This is a role for a seasoned designer who sees AI not as a novelty but as a force multiplier they have already built into their daily craft. You conduct user research, ship polished UI in Figma, and stand up functional prototypes with AI-assisted code generation to test ideas before a sprint begins. You move fast, explore broadly, and use every tool at your disposal to close the gap between insight and experience. You will own MapMy design end-to-end. You will set the strategic design direction for the portfolio, drive the craft bar higher, and mentor designers across Consumer Apps. You bring conviction, taste, and a track record of shipping consumer experiences at scale. You will operate with autonomy in ambiguous problem spaces, partner directly with Product and Engineering leadership, and help shape a lean, AI-empowered design practice that others want to learn from. What You'll Do: - Lead end-to-end design across MapMy's mobile (iOS/Android) and web experiences, owning the highest-leverage surfaces from problem framing through delivery. - Define and evolve an AI-accelerated design practice, using tools like Claude, Cursor, and v0 as a core part of daily workflow for ideation, prototyping, and iteration. - Build functional, interactive prototypes quickly to validate concepts with real users and stakeholders. - Own the MapMy design system and component library, raising consistency and quality across the product suite. - Drive the research agenda in partnership with Product — leading interviews, usability tests, and competitive analysis to ground decisions in real user needs. - Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data leadership to align design strategy with business goals. - Mentor mid-level and junior designers, lead design reviews, and raise the craft bar across the team. - Define design success metrics and lead post-launch analysis using A/B results, funnel data, and qualitative feedback. - Deliver polished design specs, redlines, and asset handoffs — supplemented with interactive prototypes when they tell the story better. - Set the visual, interaction, and motion standards for MapMy, ensuring all work meets WCAG accessibility guidelines. What We're Looking For: Required Experience - 7+ years shipping consumer-facing mobile or web products, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design leadership from problem framing through shipped outcomes. - Expert Figma proficiency and fluent, daily use of AI tools in your design workflow. - Deep understanding of iOS, Android, and responsive web design principles. - Track record of collaborating with senior Product, Engineering, and Data leaders in an agile environment, with experience mentoring designers. - Strong communicator who can articulate design rationale and tradeoffs to executive and cross-functional audiences. Craft & Technical Fluency - Mastery of typography, color, layout, and interaction design, with experience building or scaling design systems. - Ability to build functional prototypes using AI code-generation tools — you can get a working demo in front of users on your own. Mindset & Approach - Sets direction in ambiguity, defaults to showing over telling, and brings conviction and taste to what gets built. - Curious, experimental, and energized by new tools — low ego, high standards. Nice to Have - Background in fitness, health, or GPS/mapping; familiarity with motion design tools; working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS; experience with advanced research methods and data-informed design practices.
