Area Sales Manager
Gérard Bertrand Wines
• Manage sales across Germany by working closely with the distributor network and key accounts in both on-trade (hospitality) and retail sectors • Open new accounts such as regional hotel, restaurant, retail, or cash-and-carry chains • Grow distribution of prestige wines in the most iconic and premium restaurants in your area • Develop business plans and sales initiatives for best-selling items with the existing customer database • Exceed targets by creating monthly placements, programs and brand ambassador initiatives • Implement, monitor and evaluate program execution in the trade together with distributor salesforces • Engage with key accounts to grow business by targeting sales by brand • Monitor execution through sales reporting • Identify opportunities and ensure brand standards by utilizing sales data • Create brand ambassadors through business meetings and retailer and staff trainings • Motivate and manage distributor salesforces and agencies as the company spokesperson
Job Requirements
- Strong affinity for wine; experience in the wine industry in Germany is preferred
- Fluent in German (native preferred) and English
- Based in Germany (ideally Frankfurt or Munich) with flexibility to travel
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in-market
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required for events
- Strong, tactful and effective closing skills
- Strong understanding of French and German culture (asset)
- Knowledge of French (asset)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or equivalent professional experience in wine or hospitality (asset)
