Senior Business Services Accountant, SMSF

Synct

• Prepare financial statements and workpapers for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Individuals • Prepare income tax returns and supporting schedules • Prepare BAS and IAS • Prepare SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation • Complete account reconciliations and year-end adjustments • Use Xero for bookkeeping, reporting, and reconciliations • Maintain accurate client records, workpapers, and supporting documentation • Review transactions, coding, and account reconciliations • Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and lodgement deadlines • Liaise with Australian accountants and internal stakeholders • Assist with workflow management and job tracking • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Australian Public Practice experience
  • Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns
  • Experience handling Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, Individuals, and SMSFs
  • Hands-on experience with SMSF financial statements, workpapers, and tax returns
  • Experience using Class Super, BGL 360, or similar SMSF software
  • Experience preparing BAS and IAS
  • Proficiency in Xero
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting and compliance processes
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Willing to work AEST/AEDT hours

You’ll reconcile donations from several payment platforms including bank deposits, securities, and cryptocurrency to a CRM system for the purpose of general ledger uploads and ultimately regranting to charities. • Preparing the quarterly grants reconciliation.
