Job Description

Principal Product Marketing Manager

Harness

Role Description Harness is redefining how companies deliver and release software with speed, safety, and confidence. As a Principal Product Marketing Manager (PMM), you will own the go-to-market story for Harness Continuous Delivery — our cornerstone product for delivering software through environments and into production quickly, safely, and securely. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of product, sales, and marketing. You’ll shape how the industry thinks about CD in the AI era, and drive our competitive edge against CD specialists like Octopus Deploy and Akuity, as well as DevOps platforms that include CD, like GitHub Actions and GitLab. Think of this role as the mini-CMO for your module. You’ll drive messaging, competitive positioning, sales enablement, customer storytelling, and analyst engagement while also influencing the roadmap with win/loss insights and customer feedback. It’s strategic, visible, and broad in scope, with plenty of hands-on execution to bring the story to life. Qualifications - 8+ years in product marketing or a technical role (product management, solutions engineering, architecture). - Strong foundation in the software delivery lifecycle. You understand how developers ship and manage code. - Experience with developer tooling, CI/CD, DevOps platforms, or testing tools. - Equally comfortable shaping high-level strategy and demoing features hands-on. - Exceptional communicator with a knack for turning technical detail into compelling customer value stories. - Collaborative, creative, and energized by working across product, sales, and marketing. Requirements - Own the category positioning for Harness Continuous Delivery and GitOps. - Define messaging, value props, and competitive differentiation. - Partner with Product to bring customer and market insights directly into roadmap decisions. - Represent the product in CABs, QBRs, and analyst briefings to ensure the voice of the customer is heard. - Build playbooks, AI bots, training, and competitive battlecards that help the field win. - Support high-stakes opportunities with product and persona expertise. - Ability to jump on a call at the last minute to demo the product for a prospect and help sales win the next meeting. - Identify and write compelling customer success stories that highlight business outcomes. - Partner with Sales on win/loss analysis and pipeline insights to sharpen GTM execution. - Develop thought-leadership assets, including blogs, briefs, videos, presentations, and campaigns. - Represent Harness at webinars, conferences, and in customer-facing conversations. - Recruit and prepare customer speakers for summits and events. - Perform funnel analysis to uncover optimization opportunities and drive adoption. - Lead win/loss and competitive intelligence to keep Harness sharp against market trends. - Gather and synthesize customer/market feedback to improve messaging and influence product strategy. Benefits - Competitive salary - Comprehensive healthcare benefits - Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - Flexible work schedule - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Flexible Time Off and Parental Leave - Monthly, quarterly, and annual social and team building events - Monthly internet reimbursement Company Description Harness is the AI Software Delivery Platform company, led by technologist and entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal. Harness has raised approximately $570M in funding and is valued at $5.5B, backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, IVP, Unusual Ventures, Citi Ventures, and more. With a global team across 26 offices and 27 countries, Harness is shaping the future of AI software delivery — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us move even faster.

• Define and evolve positioning that clearly articulates why Active Intelligence represents a fundamentally new way for businesses to run their marketing — and why that matters now. • Translate complex AI capabilities into clear, compelling customer value that resonates across segments. • Lead go-to-market strategies measured by adoption and continued usage, not launch ceremony. • Own the market-side of the customer lifecycle — the narrative that moves someone from “I tried it” to “I can’t turn this off.” • Run experimentation-driven programs: every initiative has a hypothesis, a signal, and a learning cycle. We move in weekly learning cycles, not quarterly planning windows. • Automate traditional launch mechanics — release notes, enablement decks, internal comms. Your team operates above the automation line. • Arm Sales, CS, and our partner ecosystem with positioning, proof points, and talk tracks that improve conversations and conversion. • Build the market presence that makes ActiveCampaign the reference point for autonomous marketing — thought leadership, proof points, and narrative formats that establish our position. • Lead a PMM team of outcome owners who own strategic priorities the way PMs own product areas — with backlogs, experiments, and shipped impact.
