Director of Media

Rankings

Role Description We're looking for a Director of Media who is, first and foremost, a production house operator — someone who has built and run content engines and understands how long-form media creates trust, grows audiences, and turns listeners into true believers. You'll run a fully internal media production house with the creative latitude of a media brand and the commercial accountability of a marketing function. The content you build will be the primary vehicle through which Rankings.io maintains its authority across the legal marketing landscape — and increasingly, the foundation of how we show up in AI-driven search. Curiosity is welcomed, innovation is expected. What You'll Own - Content Production & Repurposing - Own the long-form content engine: editorial calendar, pillar content strategy, and the repurposing system that turns one episode into a full suite of channel-specific assets. - Set and maintain production standards worthy of a media house: editorial rigor, consistent voice, and content PI attorneys share with colleagues. - Lead development of new shows, content lines, and formats that extend reach and deepen audience relationships. - Generative Search Visibility - Design pillar content to fan out across the specific, narrow questions our audience is asking AI tools. - Coordinate topic planning to cover the full surface area of core issues — operational, financial, and strategic pain points — not just marketing angles. - Stay current on how generative search is evolving and adjust strategy accordingly. - Audience Growth - Own systematic growth strategies across podcast, newsletter, YouTube, and cross-channel distribution. - Use audience data and engagement signals to continuously refine editorial direction. - Channel Leadership - Podcast: Personal Injury Mastermind and future shows. - Newsletter: Content direction and subscriber growth. - Magazine: Editorial development for PIM Magazine. - YouTube: Content strategy and discoverability. - Attribution & Performance - Own UTM architecture across all media channels with consistent naming conventions and clean data. - Understand media attribution inside HubSpot: multi-touch models, lifecycle influence, and contact timelines. - Build dashboards that give leadership an honest view of how media investment drives audience growth and downstream revenue. - Team & Vendor Leadership - Lead direct reports, contractors, and production vendors. - Collaborate with Brand, Events, and Demand Gen to integrate media into campaigns and the full marketing calendar. - Contribute to PIMCON programming and sponsorship strategy. Qualifications - 7+ years in senior media, content, or editorial leadership — you've owned a content program at scale. - Demonstrated experience growing B2B audiences through podcasting, newsletters, video, or editorial publishing. - A documented approach to content repurposing and atomization — you've built the system. - Active, fluent use of AI tools in a production context. - Working knowledge of marketing attribution and UTM architecture. - Comfort with HubSpot or a comparable CRM. Nice to Have - Experience structuring or selling media sponsorships. - Background building community around media content — forums, live events, LinkedIn communities, or similar. - Familiarity with content licensing or co-production partnerships. Benefits - Starting Salary of $120,000. - Fully Remote. - Unlimited PTO. - $100 Wellness Reimbursement Program. - Quarterly training stipend for Professional Development. - 401(k) with 3% Employer match (Safe Harbor). - 100% Employer-Paid Health Insurance. What to Expect in the Interview Process - Human Resume Review: Your resume will be reviewed by our Talent Acquisition team: Real people, not AI. - One-Way Video Interview: Selected candidates will be sent a link to complete a one-way video interview. Please plan to record in your typical work-from-home environment, ensuring it is well-lit and free of distractions. - Introductory Zoom Interview: Candidates who move forward will meet with the Hiring Manager(s) for a live Zoom interview to discuss experience, role expectations, and team fit. - Leadership Interview: Candidates advancing to the next stage will participate in a Zoom interview with our VP of Marketing and Chief Revenue Officer. This discussion will focus on leadership experience, strategic thinking, team development, and functional expertise. - Executive Interview: Finalists will meet with our CEO for a final Zoom interview to discuss leadership philosophy, organizational impact, and long-term alignment with our vision and culture.
