• Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will act as a strategic individual contributor, translating raw data into actionable insights that drive our growth and help us scale. • This role will have ownership of our financial models, SaaS metrics reporting, and strategic forecasting. • Partnering with the CFO to build dynamic scenarios involving revenue modeling, resourcing requirements and cash implications. • Driving the budgeting process and lead variance analysis. • Interface with business leaders to support their functional areas. • Consistently seek out ways to drive process improvements and increase the efficiency of how we operate. • Tracking, analyzing, and optimizing core KPIs, including ARR, Net Revenue Retention (NRR), Churn, LTV, and CAC. • Interfacing with Accounting, IT and HR to optimize hiring, spending, and Close processes, among others. • Helping the CFO prepare financial reporting packages and presentations for the Board of Directors and investors. • Partnering with functional business leaders to support ad hoc analyses around strategic topics including, but not limited to future growth opportunities and efficiently scaling the business.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in a corporate finance role
- Experience working inside a B2B SaaS, AI or software company; understanding of subscription mechanics, KPIs and recurring revenue
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
- Also possess the ability to analyze complex data sets and distill down into key, actionable data points
- Detail oriented and organized with data integrity as a foundational principle
- Understanding of GAAP accounting concepts and how to apply them in a subscription based business model
- High-Trust individual contributor that can work largely independently and seeks out opportunities to operate more efficiently
- Problem solver that proactively identifies areas for improvement and offers solutions
- Good communicator with the ability to work cross functionally and influence decisions
- Proficiency with AI tools and an inclination to use them
- Experience with Quickbooks, Rippling, Bill.com , Ramp and Salesforce is a plus

Role Description Duke University Health System is seeking a strategic financial leader to serve as the Director of Finance – Strategic Financial Planning and Budget. Reporting directly to the AVP of Budgets, Treasury, and Cash Management, this critical role is responsible for the clinical operational and capital budgeting, as well as the overarching financial planning for DUHS. The Director will establish and oversee budgeting and planning processes that culminate in the publication of the Annual Financial Plan. By actively coordinating with operating unit leadership and DUHS senior executives, this position aims to increase the speed, consistency, and effectiveness of management’s financial decision-making.
