Role Description The Personal Effects Claims Specialist is a key member of ANOVA’s Claims Department, responsible for managing the full lifecycle of household-goods and personal-effects claims. This role requires a balance of technical coverage analysis, strong customer communication, and disciplined claim-handling practices. Responsibilities: - Investigation & Evaluation: Conduct thorough investigations of claims arising from the transit or storage of household goods and personal effects, including domestic moves, international shipments, and storage. - Coverage & Liability Analysis: Review and interpret applicable policy forms, apply provisions to factual scenarios, and determine coverage and liability. - Valuation & Settlement: Assess the value of lost or damaged items and negotiate fair, accurate settlements consistent with ANOVA guidelines. - Customer Advocacy & Communication: Communicate clearly, empathetically, and proactively with insureds. - Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous and timely claim documentation following internal controls and regulatory standards. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, surveyors, adjusters, and brokers. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as a Claims Adjuster preferred. - Experience in P&C, Inland Marine, or Household Goods/Moving claims preferred. - Strong analytical and communication skills. - Customer-focused mindset. - Ability to manage high-volume claims. - Proficiency with claims systems and Google Workspace. - Adjuster license(s) or willingness to obtain. Requirements - Required Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience. - Required Travel: No Travel Required. - Required Education: High school or equivalent.
