Job Description

Sourcing Manager – Meeting & Event Venues

BCD Travel

• Work with the client to understand the meeting goals and objectives, the sleeping room, and space requirements • Be consultative in your approach • Make recommendations based on supplier relationships, budget, location, availability, goals, and objectives • Distribute, monitor, and analyze supplier Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for client meeting needs • Negotiate contracts for the best possible prices and concessions to meet savings expectations on meeting spend • Source preferred ground transportation providers and provide proposals to the group • Manage amendments and cancellation requests efficiently • Keep abreast of new destination options, well-priced seasonal destination options, and “hot date” offerings • Enter and update contracted details and negotiated savings in CVENT • Monitor hotel penalties for rebooking opportunities • Adhere to client compliance and performance management SLAs • Provide excellent customer service

Job Requirements

  • Travel industry and destination knowledge is a plus
  • CVENT experience is required; certification is preferred
  • International experience a plus
  • Pharma/Medical Device experience a plus
  • CMP, CMM, HMCC or CMP-HC a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Proven hotel sourcing & contracting, meetings management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows platform
