Role Description Leads and directs a team responsible for financial analysis activities across designated business areas - focusing on operational performance and strategic partnerships. Facilitates analysis, modeling, and forecasting to uncover business insights, develop data-driven solutions, and support informed decision-making. - Monitors adjustment factors and evaluates the financial impact of periodic changes. - Evaluates cost performance across operational areas, including vendor contracts and efficiency initiatives — identifying and implementing opportunities to improve profitability. Benchmarks performance across regions, populations, and internal/external standards. - Reviews and analyzes monthly financial reserves for accuracy. Supports corporate finance or actuarial teams in setting appropriate reserve levels. - Interprets financial performance with internal teams and corporate finance. Monitors actuals versus budget, investigates variances, and recommends corrective actions. - Prepares and presents financial reports to leadership. - Collaborates with cross-functional departments including analytics, project management, operations, and customer service. - Manages relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors for all financial matters. - Reconciles revenue receipts to eligibility or service records in internal systems. - Supports strategic analysis and planning initiatives across the organization. - Reviews financial terms of vendor or partner contracts and recommends changes. Qualifications - At least 8 years of health care finance and/or analytical experience, including 5 years of managed care experience, preferably working with Medicaid, and 3 years queries, programming, relational database and financial analysis experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. - At least 3 years management/leadership experience. - Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field. - Advanced training or experience in health care analytics. - Advanced knowledge of queries and database development. - Understanding of accounting concepts, ability to convert data to meaningful reports. - Strong critical-thinking and attention to detail. - Ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong time-management skills, and ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks to meet internal deadlines. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products, key skills in Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)/applicable software program(s) proficiency.
