This program involves replacing the aging Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD) Weather Surveillance Radar 1988 Doppler (WSR-88D) system with a next-generation network featuring enhanced capabilities, and improved coverage and performance. Given the criticality of uninterrupted radar coverage for public safety, the transition must be seamless.
