We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented IT Systems Engineer to help keep our systems, endpoints, and networks running smoothly while supporting our strategic IT and security projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone comfortable administering the tools and platforms we use. Their focus is on keeping our systems running smoothly day-to-day handling routine admin, maintenance and troubleshooting, making small improvements/automation where it helps and taking ownership of well-defined pieces of work within larger projects. They’re also a key escalation point for our IT Support Technician, helping unblock more complex issues while keeping documentation clear. What’s the opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer at Gearset? - Work alongside our Systems Administrator to maintain and enhance of our core systems. - Deepen your technical mastery in endpoint management, networking and scaling enterprise SaaS estates. - Gain hands-on technical experience working on complex high-impact projects, taking ownership of well defined pieces of work within larger strategic projects. What you’ll achieve Handle the day-to-day administration and maintenance of MDM and endpoint platforms (Jamf and Intune) to ensure fleet health and patching compliance. Administer and audit core Identity and Access Management (IAM) and SaaS lifecycles for seamless onboarding/offboarding. Serve as the primary 2nd line escalation point for our IT Support Technician, analysing systemic trends to reduce recurring tickets. Create and maintain thorough technical documentation and standard operating procedures. - Troubleshoot office networking infrastructure to ensure consistent connectivity. About you - A proven track record in related roles such as IT support, Tech Ops or EUC. - Comfortable administering Apple/macOS environments with JAMF our MDM platform. - Strong working knowledge of enterprise SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion). - Familiarity with security best practices, patch management and strict access control principles. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences. Great to haves - An interest in automation, with the capability or willingness to learn to use scripting languages to optimise processes. - Network troubleshooting and diagnostics skills.
