Role Description We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for a US product SaaS company that helps brands and agencies plan, execute, and measure influencer and social media marketing campaigns through data-driven creator insights. The role requires strong expertise in PHP (Laravel) and Node.js to support the growth and scalability of core backend systems. The position involves modernizing a large PHP monolith by evolving it into modular, service-oriented services, with a strong emphasis on clean architecture, automated testing, and platform reliability. You will work remotely as part of a distributed team, partnering closely with product, platform, and engineering stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. - Develop clear, maintainable backend code in PHP and Node.js following current best practices - Create, support, and evolve RESTful and GraphQL APIs with a focus on scalability and reliability - Refactor existing codebases to enhance performance, clarity, and long-term sustainability - Implement, deploy, and run backend services on AWS, including Lambda-based solutions - Build and maintain comprehensive test coverage across unit, functional, and integration levels - Evaluate, refine, and improve code produced with AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor.
