Role Description We're hiring a Social Media & Community Manager who treats our brand like it's their own. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role — strategy and execution. You'll own how Brick Me shows up on social media, how we talk with our community, and how we get featured in places that matter. This isn't a "post 3x a week and call it done" role. We want someone who's genuinely excited about the product, gets the brand voice quickly, and brings ideas we wouldn't have thought of. Key Responsibilities - Social media management: - Run our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest. - Build the content strategy, plan the calendar, write the copy, schedule posts, track what's working, adjust accordingly. - Community management: - Reply to comments and DMs across organic posts and paid ads. - Answer questions, stay on top of brand-relevant conversations, and pass complaints or feedback to our customer service team. - Post on Reddit and engage authentically with the communities our audience lives in. - Influencer marketing: - Manage brand collabs end-to-end. - Respond to inbound collab requests, proactively find creators who fit us, negotiate terms, brief them properly, and enforce our brand guidelines. - Spot the difference between a creator who'll drive real engagement and one who just looks good on paper. - Content management: - Curate UGC from customers and video creators. - Build a content strategy and brief our designers to produce content for organic social and paid ads. - Know what good looks like and direct accordingly. - Digital PR: - Pitch and engage with publications, blogs, and websites to get Brick Me featured. - Build relationships with editors and writers in our space. Qualifications - 5+ years of relevant experience managing social and community for consumer brands (DTC ecommerce experience strongly preferred) - Should have experience with Reddit - Hands-on experience running Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest - Excellent written English — strong communication skills as the voice of the brand - Proven track record in influencer outreach and digital PR (not just basic social posting) - Strategic thinker who can also execute effectively - Self-starter who works independently and brings proactive ideas - Passionate about brand-building (bonus if into design, craft, gifting, or personalised products) Requirements - Timezone: Minimum 70% overlap with Australian time zone (AEST/AEDT) — this is a hard requirement so we can collaborate in real time - Start: Immediate - Engagement: Long-term. We're looking for someone we can build a relationship with, not a short-term gig Work Arrangement & Expectations This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement. To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to: - Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work - Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
