Role Description The VP of Electronics Manufacturing is responsible for collaborating on, defining, and executing the global electronics manufacturing strategy for the company’s lighting and lighting controls portfolio. This role ensures alignment with business strategy, process standardization, modular designs, make vs buy strategies, cost targets, quality standards, regulatory compliance, tariffs and geopolitical challenges, innovation roadmaps, automation, and a manufacturing footprint strategy that will provide operational resiliency in a cost-effective manner. The VP of Electronics Manufacturing requires a leader with deep, hands-on experience in SMT manufacturing environments, including ownership of SMT production lines, process engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives. The VP will ensure high-performance, scalable, and cost-effective electronics manufacturing across global operations, while driving best-in-class quality, yield, and throughput. He/she will lead a team of professionals managing Strategy, NPI, Manufacturing Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering. Partners closely with the Electronics Product and Engineering, Manufacturing Network Design, Sourcing and Supply Chain teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and market-leading lighting solutions. Key Responsibilities - Strategy: Define and own the global electronics manufacturing strategy aligned with the company’s product, technology, and sustainability roadmap. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sourcing and other partners to ensure an end-to-end cohesive strategy across electronics architecture and platforms. - Business Excellence: Standardize and harmonize engineering best practices, validation protocols, system architectures, design for excellence, thermal management, modular design, and governance across all electronics development, while integrating emerging technologies. - Quality, Compliance and Reliability: Create quality as a differentiator across the electronics footprint. Ensures compliance with global standards and regulations, and owns electronics reliability targets, field performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Product Development: Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams for new product introduction architecture and platforms, and drive velocity throughout the process (NPI) from concept to production ramp. Participates in the definition of Make vs Buy decisions, as well as supplier selection and qualification. - Financial & Business Impact: Owns/manages electronics manufacturing cost structure, productivity roadmaps, budget, CapEx planning and ROI for electronics investments aligned with the Electronics Business Strategy. - Leadership: Lead and develop global teams across electronics engineering, validation, industrialization, make vs buy strategy, supplier engineering and drive a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and accountability.
