Adjunct Faculty- Center for Professional Education

Role Description Seattle Pacific University's Center for Professional Education (CPE) seeks a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach PES 5051: Foundations and Methods of Teaching Health Fitness, the foundational course in SPU's Health Fitness Add-On Endorsement program. This course is delivered in a remote, asynchronous format through Canvas, allowing students to complete coursework in a self-paced learning environment. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026. Employee must reside/work in the State of Washington. Adjunct faculty are hired on a contractual, part-time basis and are responsible for: - Maintaining and updating course syllabi and instructional materials using current best practices - Facilitating student learning in an online environment - Monitoring student progress and providing timely feedback - Grading assignments and assessments - Responding to student questions and providing instructional support - Supporting student success throughout the duration of the course Qualifications - Master's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Education, or a related field - Current or retired Physical Education teacher - Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Physical Education endorsement/certification - Demonstrated knowledge of current instructional practices in health and fitness education - A personal commitment to Christian faith; enthusiasm for supporting SPU’s mission; alignment with the University’s Statement of Faith; and willingness to uphold the lifestyle standards of our Christian community Requirements - Compensation is $225 per student registration.
