Technical Accounting Manager

Rescale

• Leading the month-end close across U.S. and international entities, ensuring timely and accurate accounting for operating expenses, banking activity, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and key balance sheet accounts. • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and flux analyses, ensuring accounts are fully substantiated with third-party support, clear documentation, and timely resolution of reconciling items. • Supporting revenue accounting processes to ensure accurate application of ASC 606, partnering with leadership on complex or non-standard arrangements. • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of payroll accounting across U.S. and international entities, including review of payroll journals, reconciliations, and related tax and liability accounts to ensure completeness and compliance. • Driving operational accuracy and efficiency across AP and AR, ensuring timeliness and alignment with internal controls and company policies. • Owning the execution of U.S. sales and indirect tax compliance, including monitoring nexus, managing registrations, coordinating with Avalara and external advisors, and reviewing filings for accuracy and completeness. • Preparing and reviewing audit schedules, PBC requests, and supporting workpapers for external audits and regulatory reviews. • Leading process, systems, and close-efficiency improvements, including standardizing month-end procedures, enhancing reconciliation workflows, and identifying automation opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry experience, with exposure to high-growth technology, SaaS, and/or pre-IPO environments.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical foundation in U.S. GAAP with hands-on experience applying accounting principles in a dynamic business setting.
  • Experience operating in fast-scaling environments, with comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite strongly preferred; experience with close automation, spend management, payroll, or billing systems (e.g., FloQast, Airbase, BambooHR, or similar) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve, standardize, and automate accounting processes to drive scalability, efficiency, and strong internal controls.
  • High standards for accuracy and documentation, with attention to detail while maintaining a broader business perspective.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-growth setting.
