The Work Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the L&SS team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, testing, and requirements verification of High Energy Laser systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and validate software solutions that support advanced laser and sensor technologies. Key responsibilities include: Designing and developing embedded software solutions for HEL systems. Performing software analysis, testing, and verification activities. Supporting requirements development and validation. Collaborating with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams. Contributing to software lifecycle processes and engineering best practices. Assisting with integration and troubleshooting of hardware and software components. Desired experience includes one or more of the following: C/C++ development. Embedded software engineering practices. Microcontrollers and embedded systems. Electronic test equipment. Graphical User Interface (GUI) development. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Computer Engineering or a related discipline, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. - Demonstrated experience writing C/C++ code - Embedded real-time software development - Experience with operation and use of standard lab equipment for test, trouble shooting, and repair - Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, must be a U.S. Citizen Desired Skills: - Agile Development (Scrum Master or Product Owner or Release Train Engineer experience) - Experience with debugging hardware and is familiar with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and Wireshark or equivalent. - Demonstrated experience in board bring up activities working closely with electrical engineers - Demonstrated experience troubleshooting small and large scale systems across software, firmware, and hardware - Experience using various communication protocols including: SPI, I2C, RS-422, RS-485, CANbus, TCP/UDP - Experience and ability working with cross functional/multi-disciplinary teams - Ability to work in a fast paced environment - Experience with GitLab CI/CD Pipelines - Software firmware interface development experience using across various chip suppliers - Strong communication and team collaboration skills - Experience integrating software in an embedded hardware environment Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
