Title: Senior Accountant Location: Charlotte United States Status: Full Time Job Description: Since its founding in 1937, Krispy Kreme's focus has remained the same - making fresh doughnuts using our founder's original recipe. The brand's iconic Hot Light lets consumers know when doughnuts are being made in the shop so they can stop in and enjoy them hot, right off the line. The Senior Accountant role on the Corporate Accounting team performs general ledger accounting responsibilities related to the month-end close process. This includes preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for Krispy Kreme and subsidiary businesses. This role is responsible for corporate accounting duties including but not limited to the following: consolidations, data analytics, employee compensation, equity compensation, and treasury accounting. This position analyzes financial data and transactions to identify significant fluctuations for review and accuracy. This role will also assist in preparing month-end and quarter-end external reporting deliverables including internal decks and SEC filings like 10-Qs and 10-Ks. A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: - Perform month-end activities relevant to assigned areas, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounting processes - Provide accounting support to FP&A and subsidiary businesses - Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting to share insights - Develop, evaluate, and enhance internal controls to support a strong and efficient control environment - Regularly review balance sheet data to validate accuracy - Document accounting processes by drafting internal accounting whitepapers as needed - Coordinate with internal and external auditors to develop efficient controls and address audit findings - Design and implement standard processes and procedures for areas assigned - Frequently review processes for improvement and drive efficiencies through automation and optimized processes - Continuously strive for excellence, improvement, and best-in-class ways of working - Support the broader Finance & Accounting team by developing productive working relationships, partnering with stakeholders, and being a team player that is willing to assist others for the good of the team - Ensure we remain well-prepared for change and growth by actively developing new skillsets and capabilities YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: - Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience - CPA with large public accounting firm experience preferred - Hands-on experience and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and full picture of business cycles, from transactional subledger accounting to the consolidated financial statements and disclosures - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines - Professional and effective verbal and written communication - Meticulous attention to detail - Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems - Flexibility and adaptable to changing priorities - Ability to efficiently work remotely or in the office as needed - Ability to travel to various work locations or events/conferences (travel not expected to exceed 15%) - Has a steadfast commitment to nurture an equitable, unbiased culture where our peeps are empowered to showcase their originality. - The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job and are not the official job description for the position.
