Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Security+ CE certification (required)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or security operations
- Strong administration experience with: Tenable Nessus, Tenable Security Center, Tenable Agents, Qualys Platform, Qualys VMDR, Qualys CAR, Qualys Policy Assessment (PA), Splunk (SIEM)
- Solid understanding of: Vulnerability scanning methodologies and CVSS scoring, Risk-based vulnerability management, Operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls), SIEM operations, alerting, and dashboard creation
- Strong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking
- Broad technical background utilizing security technologies, such as Server and Workstation Operating Systems, Network Security
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
- Strong written and verbal skills

Role Description NEC is seeking a UMC IT Systems Tech to support assessment events by establishing local networks and integrating Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) solutions for testing with those networks. Support white cell operations with internet, satellite communications (e.g. Starlink), handheld radio communications, and other IT equipment. Troubleshoot COTS systems and assist UMC and other assessment personnel in operating the same. This support is essential for UMC operations both in the Tampa office as well as at assessment sites. Operate as part of a team by gaining and maintaining an understanding of an upcoming exercise through virtual meetings and augmenting the team on site for execution. Work will require frequent travel to various sites within the US and at OCONUS locations. The endstate is to support the UMC in its use of IT systems during technical assessments that evaluate and help mature technologies for actual use by military service members. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities - Arrange personal travel plans in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) to support assessment events. - Establish local area networks that support UMC field operations. - Act as network engineer and system administrator for the UMC team and designated exercise participants. - Integrate COTS equipment as necessary. - Provide recommendations on IT equipment necessary to support UMC. - Familiarize with the equipment or applications to be tested/assessed and provide assistance to the rest of the team in its use. - Troubleshoot as necessary. - Develop professional products that would help UMC personnel and assessment participants to use equipment (i.e. quick start guide or cheat sheet). - Augment the UMC in a variety of roles including: observer/controller, role player, white cell exercise control, etc. - Submit travel costs/expense reports in accordance with JTR.
