Mortgage Processor/Underwriter
Knock
• Calculate Knock Bridge Loan advance amounts using internal calculations and guidelines • Accurately condition loan files based on the loan application and file documentation • Provide consistent internal communication regarding loan status and approval updates • Communicate effectively and professionally with external Lending Partners, Agents, and Borrowers • Review title reports and homeowners/flood insurance to ensure Knock’s lien position and security interest • Efficiently and effectively manage and process a daily pipeline of loans while maintaining company turn times • Understand and stay current with all company policies, procedures, industry regulations, and other changes impacting Knock and the broader industry • Continuously learn and grow while supporting the development of others; serve as a mentor and resource both within and beyond your team • Take on ad-hoc projects as they arise and proactively support the team wherever help is needed
Job Requirements
- Successful experience working as a Senior Mortgage Loan Processor or Junior Underwriter, with a solid understanding of underwriting processes and lending systems
- Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret and apply lending guidelines effectively
- Excellent organizational skills to manage many competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; a natural over-communicator
- Proven efficiency and success in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Quick learner with an innate ability to adopt new technologies and enhance personal skills quickly through self-learning, research, and asking the right questions
- A passion for real estate disruption and an excitement to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing growth environment and confidently share new ideas
- Strong knowledge of various loan products, credit reports, and debt-to-income ratios
- Demonstrated success working 100% remotely and collaborating with a distributed national team
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
