Role Description The New England School of Acupuncture seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and evaluation for the Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine program. The selected candidate will bring subject matter expertise to the responsibilities of the remote teaching of Chinese Herbal Medicine: Internal Medicine I in the fall 2026 semester September 4, 2026-December 11, 2026. This course explores the theoretical basis of Chinese herbal treatments for various internal medicine conditions such as: - Cough - Asthma - Diarrhea - Constipation - Depression - Headache - Edema - Others Special emphasis is placed on understanding the theoretical basis of diagnosis, as well as selecting and modifying formulas. This remote 60-hour course will have 2 class meetings per week: Monday and Friday 8:30am-11:00am eastern time. The ideal candidate will also teach Chinese Herbal Medicine: Internal Medicine II in the spring semester. - Deliver didactic instruction through the online Learning Management System Blackboard® in a synchronous classroom setting. - Provide an engaging active learning environment for students. - Provide students with periodic assessments of their progress toward meeting course objectives. - Apply grading policies fairly and consistently. - Develop/adhere to the course syllabus per the NESA/MCPHS format, which includes course learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policy in line with that of MCPHS, and assessment criteria, including assignment deliverables and timelines. - Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean. Qualifications - Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine or equivalent, doctoral degree preferred. - Minimum of five years clinical practice in Chinese Herbal Medicine. - NCCAOM Certification in Herbology. - Experience teaching Chinese Herbal Medicine. - Online teaching experience strongly preferred. - Commitment to graduate education and student success. - Excellent organizational and communication skills. - Must be able to work independently and interact effectively with students and administration/staff.
