Role Description The Specialist II has advanced knowledge within designated Information Technology (IT) area of responsibility that is applied to broad and diverse assignments and associated requirements. This role plans and coordinates activities related to the design, development, implementation, and integration of IT solutions. The Specialist II analyzes, evaluates, and recommends innovative solutions. The Specialist II applies proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems. Individuals in this position typically provide expertise and planning to a number of clients by overseeing, coordinating, and implementing medium to complex IT projects. This position may lead and guide other IT staff. - Provide project leadership to ensure that project deliverables and schedules are met by technical resources; manage escalation to the appropriate IT resource management when needed; provide feedback to technical resource manager on the performance of technical staff. - Translate customer and business requirements into practical and affordable solutions; minimize customizations. - Monitor and communicate the financial aspects of each project, such as review billing charges, mitigate budget, and actual variances. - Facilitate evaluation and vendor selection of business solutions using established selection methodology when applicable. - Participate with cross-functional team members in issue identification, process impacts, and solution development discussions to optimize end-to-end solutions. - Leverage outside vendors, contractors, technical teams, and other departments to drive for results. - Work in a fast-moving, dynamic environment with an emphasis on security, accountability, and compliance. - Excellent customer service and communication skills. - Proactivity (self-starter); can get work done remotely with minimal help or supervision. Preferred Qualifications - Accredited degree or global equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline. - May require Certified Network Engineer (CNE or CNE/NT) or Certified Network Administrator (CNA) credentials or other applicable certifications. - Six (6) years related experience in technical services for hardware/software engineering and/or production support of Information Technology (IT) services. - May require proficiency with Windows, Unix, or similar technologies, with experience in installation and administration of one or more operating systems. - Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills. - Effectively utilizes business principles, processes, and technology. - Effectively adapts to rapidly changing technology and applies it to business needs. - Strong analytical and conceptual skills. - Demonstrated strong technical and non-technical communication and presentation skills in both oral and written formats. • Provide support for assigned applications, ensuring high availability • Provide hands-on and remote troubleshooting and problem resolution • Drive efforts to proactively identify application or system issues improving availability and performance • Ensure application Service Level Agreements are exceeded by maintaining ownership of incidents through resolution • Complete projects, coordinate with team members and provide status updates • Track problems and bugs with vendors and communicate as resolutions are implemented • Responsible for vendor management; system OS, software, & infrastructure upgrades; gathering quotes; investment proposals; and change management • Responsible for providing financial information for budgeting and helping to forecast future spending needs • Coordinate the prompt diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure issues that have an impact on the production environment • Manage demands of deadlines that are responsible for all host services implementations and conversion-related activities • Perform troubleshooting techniques to solve problems, working with appropriate vendors for resolution • Stay current on security-related issues and analyze the impact on Navanta; making recommendations for security management and monitoring processes • Generate and maintain virtual servers; perform cloning tasks and snapshots and monitors performance for assigned systems and applications • Responsible for appliance/workstation/server security for supported systems and software • Responsible for backup strategy, documentation, and verification • Responsible for replication/high-availability strategy, documentation, and verification • Ensure vulnerabilities are managed with priority and aligned with the Navanta vulnerability policy • Perform all duties with a high level of change management aligned with Navanta change management policy • Systems’ performance and capacity monitoring and reporting • Assist in the installation, maintenance and support of company servers • Actively participate in special projects and strategic initiatives based on our priorities for the year • Perform other duties as assigned

• Support mission-critical SQL Server environments • Responsible for database administration, performance optimization, backup and recovery, security, data integrity, and production support in a regulated environment

• Database Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases for general company operations, while ensuring high performance and availability of the Couchbase. • Performance Tuning: Optimize complex T-SQL queries and indexes in SQL Server, and tune N1QL queries, indexing (GSI), and bucket configurations in Couchbase. • High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Manage backups, restores, replication, and failover strategies (including SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups). • Collaboration & Consulting: Work closely with software engineers and product owners from to assist with schema design, data modeling, and best practices. • Security & Compliance: Maintain strict data security, access controls, and compliance standards across all supported database platforms.
