• Develop relationships with builders, dealers, distributors, architects, developers, general contractors, and other key industry partners to grow market share • Support multiple sales channels including direct retail, distribution, dealer networks, and turnkey building providers • Help customers understand the differences between channels and identify the right solutions based on their business model and project needs • Work across a brand-agnostic environment, supporting multiple product lines and routes to market • Support customers through the sales process, product education, onboarding, and ongoing account development • Train customers on technology platforms, systems, and product solutions • Help customers understand metal building systems, product applications, and installation processes • Identify and develop new business opportunities across various customer segments and markets • Collaborate with internal teams including customer service, operations, engineering, and sales leadership to support customer success • Assist customers with navigating systems, processes, project coordination, and product selection • Support business development initiatives focused on expanding adoption of light gauge steel building solutions • Provide a high level of customer service while helping resolve issues and appropriately manage customer expectations • Build credibility with customers through strong communication, product knowledge, responsiveness, and relationship management

Job Requirements

  • Experience within metal building systems, metal roofing, wall panels, components, or related construction products strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to connect quickly with customers
  • Sales-oriented personality with the confidence to engage customers and develop new business opportunities
  • Ability to understand and navigate multiple sales channels and customer types
  • Experience reading construction drawings or working within the construction industry preferred
  • Ability to learn technical products, systems, and software platforms
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to problem-solve and manage customer expectations
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered
  • 3+ years of customer-facing experience preferred

Reporting to the Executive Director of Alumni & Family Relations, the Development Associate is responsible for providing proactive administrative support to the Executive Director, coordinating internal meetings, preparation, travel logistics and follow-up for external visits and meetings. The role provides excellent customer service to alumni, families, and others in response to phone, email inquiries, and requests for information.
