Role Overview As Lead QA Engineer at DroneDeploy, you will drive the evolution of our quality practice across multiple engineering teams, shaping how we deliver reliable, high-impact digital twin solutions for industries like construction, energy, and agriculture. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will embed with teams - starting with Ground Mobile - to identify systemic quality patterns, define and own key metrics, and partner with engineering to modernize our approach to quality. Your work will directly influence the effectiveness and velocity of 70+ engineers, ensuring our platform’s reliability and customer trust as we scale. This is a high-impact, cross-team role for a strategic quality architect who thrives on solving complex, organization-wide challenges and elevating the QA function from reactive testing to proactive quality enablement. Work Environment Work Model: 100% remote (work from home), with the expectation to embed with teams virtually and participate in collaborative sessions across US time zones. Time Zone Expectations: Operate with at least 5 hours of overlap between Pacific and Eastern time zones to maximize collaboration with distributed teams. Travel: Domestic travel, 1–2 times per year for company offsites or team events. Responsibilities Evolve and execute the quality strategy across multiple engineering teams, shaping QA’s role throughout the delivery lifecycle. Define and refine planning processes and quality gates to ensure requirements translate into robust, risk-based test coverage before code ships. Requirements 6+ years of QA engineering experience, including defining and evolving quality strategy across multiple engineering teams. Demonstrated experience designing and improving quality processes (e.g., bug handling, test planning, quality gates) and translating post-mortem learnings into prevention strategies. Proven track record of improving quality metrics and creating actionable reporting that drives quality investments. Experience analyzing incidents and bugs to identify systemic patterns, quality hotspots, and distinguishing root causes from symptoms. Deep understanding of testing approaches (exploratory, automation, monitoring) and when to apply them, with strong knowledge of modern frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, TestRigor, smoke testing strategies). Experience coaching and developing QA engineers, setting standards for their role, and elevating QA from reactive testing to strategic quality partnership. Experience spreading successful QA practices across teams, building a unified quality culture, and partnering with engineering teams on test modernization. Understanding of continuous delivery practices and how quality processes enable faster, more confident shipping. Hands-on experience with both mobile and web testing is highly valued. Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., LLMs, automation platforms) to enhance QA processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to influence and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications • Perform manual and automated testing across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria • Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and severity levels • Validate fixes and ensure issues are resolved without introducing regressions • Build and maintain automated test frameworks and CI/CD test pipelines (where applicable) • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness reviews • Advocate for quality best practices across the development lifecycle • Continuously improve QA processes, tooling, and coverage

• Utilize software to analyze recorded aircraft information/flight data in relation to Triggered Events (TEs) and Routine Operational Measurements (ROMs) • Verify and validate aircraft specific measurement sets • Generate flight operations trends and special studies • Detect hazardous conditions and risks • Assist ACC MFOQA Program Manager to support ACC's Aviation Safety Action program (ASAP) • Advocate MFOQA/ASAP program goals, benefits, and proper uses within ACC, CAF and the AF, including AFSEC's Proactive Aviation Safety • Assist analysis team in developing, deploying, and sustaining processes that facilitate the collection, reporting, analysis, quality control, and visualization of MFOQA and ASAP data and transformation into actionable information for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and tracking operational hazards • Provide knowledge of Fighter operational environments, the missions flown, and the maneuvers performed during those missions • Interface regularly with analysis team, ACC staff, AFSEC staff, and units to identify areas of interest; generate analysis products; present emerging trends, hazards, and risks; and disseminate (within and outside ACC/CAF) analysis results and corrective actions • Collaborate with the ACC MFOQA Program Manager to identify trends and deviations from standard procedures and parameters; identify corrective actions • Generate informational articles, briefings, case studies, cost benefit analysis, marketing materials, and training materials to stakeholders and designated users throughout the CAF and targeted bases on MFOQA and ASAP safety findings, corrective actions, program plans, goals, objectives, benefits, schedule, and the road ahead • Assist ACC MFOQA Program Manager with the development of long-term funding needs and POM submittals • Support MFOQA/ASAP-related meetings, including MFOQA Program Management Reviews, meetings with Sister Services, Aircraft Information Working Groups, System Safety Groups, industry safety forums, and presentations to Air Staff, ACC, AFSEC, and program office personnel • Participate in working groups and design reviews to ensure that MFOQA requirements are included in any proposed upgrades to flight recorders and other data acquisition systems

• Build and maintain AI categories, score components, and phrase libraries; continuously tune to improve precision/recall and insight relevance. • Translate patterns (drivers of dissatisfaction, repeat contacts, escalations, silence, dead air, policy breaches) into clear recommendations with expected impact and owners. • Align AI outputs to QA scorecards; validate that analytics trends correlate with FCR, CSAT/NPS, SLA, reopen rates, and compliance outcomes. • Partner with QA and Team Leads to create coachable moments, targeted huddles, and job aids; measure before/after effect through controlled sampling. • Identify knowledge gaps and content opportunities; collaborate with KCS/KB owners to improve findability, reuse, and deflection. • Build weekly/monthly reporting (e.g., Excel/Tableau) with concise narratives, trend highlights, and prioritized actions. • Monitor ingestion health, metadata mappings, redaction/masking rules for PHI/PII, user access, and version control of analytic assets. • Work closely with operations and IT to operationalize fixes (process, policy, knowledge, training, or automation). • Run experiments (A/B where practical), document outcomes, and iterate to improve category accuracy and downstream performance. • Compile observation reports and deliver briefings utilizing deep dive, root cause, SWOT, regression, and AI-enhanced statistical methodologies. • Drive customer value by delivering quantifiable results and recommending AI-informed organizational change initiatives. • Provide thought leadership on AI-powered use cases and emerging trends in conversational intelligence. • You can work in special projects and perform other duties as required.
