Role Description Manage and maintain an organization's financial records by recording, analysing and reporting financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations, ultimately providing key insights into the company’s financial health to inform decision making by stakeholders. Responsibilities - Accounting - Overseeing and managing all of the accounting functions across the group of companies. - Supporting the Accounts Assistant role in ensuring accurate processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable including processing of inter-company charges and accurate on-charging of amounts to customers in a timely manner, completing of daily bank reconciliations. - Having responsibility of all accounting journals and adjustments required for accurate financial reporting including keeping all subsidiary accounts fully reconciled. - Providing Month End Financial Reports to Management in a timely manner. - Having responsibility for GST, PAYE returns filing. - Having responsibility for inter-company transactions reconciliations. - Maintain organised and accurate financial documentation. - Having responsibility for Quarterly Bank Covenant Reporting with business performance commentary. - Providing Costing and Variance Analysis. - Financial Management - Prepare and oversee the budget and cashflow forecast for the group. - Update with actuals monthly and report to Management. - Manage cashflow forecasts and report daily. - Have the ability to provide insights into cashflow management. - General - Having the responsibility and ability to identify opportunities for improving internal financial processes and controls including ability to improve receivables collections and implementing change. - Being able to document processes and train staff who input information into finance systems. - Being able to work closely with external accountants, bank and other stakeholders provide required information in a timely manner. - Being able to lead accounting/finance related meetings and be the person in charge. - Being able to support the other functions in the company such as Health and Safety, HR, Council and other compliance requirements which require input from the finance team. Qualifications - Be an advanced user of Xero. - Have used Dext and Approval Max. - Be able to learn new software easily which are industry specific such as My Trucking, iLoad. - Be able to work sole charge without much oversight daily. - Have strong reconciliation abilities and can work to meet deadlines across a range of tasks. - Be able to maintain organised and accurate financial documentation. - Be able to lead other staff. - Have a minimum of five years’ NZ experience at a similar level (formal qualifications not necessary but preferred).
