Role Description Vantaca is changing the community association management industry with an AI-first platform purpose-built for this sector. The Engineering Manager, Platform, will shape the platform layer that every product team and AI agent depends on. - Identity & Access Management: Design and deliver a centralized IAM layer, including authentication, authorization, RBAC, and multi-tenant identity. - API infrastructure & developer experience: Build the gateway, versioning, and contracts that internal teams and external partners depend on. - AI orchestration layer: Own the orchestration layer that governs how AI agents plan, reason, and execute across platform APIs. - Engineering standards & security: Set and champion cross-team standards for quality, testing, and security. - Team leadership: Lead and grow a platform engineering team, hiring AI-native engineers and partnering closely with product engineering leads. Qualifications - 7+ years in software engineering; 3+ years managing engineering teams. - Hands-on experience building developer platforms, API gateways, or internal platform services consumed by multiple teams at scale. - IAM expertise: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, RBAC, multi-tenant identity at scale. - API design discipline — evolvable contracts, versioning, rate limiting. - Distributed systems fundamentals: queuing, event-driven patterns, observability, SLIs/SLOs. - Strong relational data modeling and correctness under scale. Requirements - Active daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar). - Deep experience designing and operating AI orchestration systems. - Experience writing specs before code and using AI to execute them. - LLM production experience: cost/latency tradeoffs, evals, observability at scale. - Polyglot and pragmatic — language follows the problem.
