Role Description Reporting to the Clinical Lead, the Mental Health Leave and Accommodations (MHLA) Clinician plays a critical role in evaluating mental health-related leave and accommodation requests and providing clinically sound, unbiased recommendations. This is a newly established function, offering the opportunity to help shape standards, workflows, and best practices from the ground up. This is a full-time position that is fully remote. No travel is required. - Perform objective mental health evaluations to assess symptomatology and functional impairment and determine the appropriateness of leave and workplace accommodations. - Develop and document concise, professional evaluation summaries that clearly articulate clinical rationale, functional findings, and recommendations. - Offer appropriate, ethical treatment plan recommendations and care pathways aligned with the member’s clinical needs and workplace considerations. - Identify trends or recurring clinical themes related to leave and accommodation requests and provide feedback to improve evaluation quality, consistency, and member experience. - Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation across systems while upholding all privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements. - Partner with internal teams, treating providers, and external stakeholders to support evaluations and deliver a coordinated, seamless experience for members navigating leave and accommodations. Qualifications - Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related mental health field. - You have an unrestricted license to practice psychotherapy (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent) in good standing. We are not able to accept applications from anyone requiring licensed supervision. - You have the ability to work a full 40 hour work week. - You're comfortable with technology and are telehealth competent. - Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, objective, and clinically defensible documentation. - High ethical standards and commitment to impartiality, objectivity, and member-centered care. - Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary, remote team. - Motivation to provide a thoughtful, high-quality experience for members during sensitive and complex situations. Requirements - Clinical experience conducting mental health assessments, with a strong preference for experience in disability, leave of absence, workplace accommodations, or occupational mental health. - Willingness to be cross-licensed in other states; sponsored by Spring Health. Key Responsibilities - Clinical Expertise & Oversight - Serve as the regional clinical expert on wound care, including assessment, staging, treatment planning, and ongoing management. - Perform advanced wound assessments and provide recommendations aligned with evidence-based practices. - Support facilities in managing complex wounds, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and chronic ulcers. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational wound care standards and protocols. - Education & Training - Deliver in-person and virtual training programs to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams. - Develop and implement wound care education materials, competencies, and best practice guidelines. - Mentor and coach clinical staff to improve wound care knowledge, documentation, and outcomes. - Lead root cause analysis and quality improvement initiatives related to wound care. - Program Development & Quality Improvement - Standardize wound care protocols and documentation practices across the region. - Monitor wound care metrics, trends, and outcomes; provide actionable insights to leadership. - Partner with clinical and operational leaders to improve quality measures and reduce wound prevalence. - Support survey readiness and participate in regulatory audits as needed. - Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with DONs, administrators, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. - Communicate clinical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly and effectively. - Act as a liaison between corporate clinical leadership and facility teams. - Travel - Travel regularly (up to 70–80%) across Wisconsin and Illinois to support multiple sites. - Flexibility to adjust schedule based on facility needs and priorities. Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (multi-state or ability to obtain licensure in WI and IL). - Wound Care Certification preferred (e.g., WCC, CWCN, CWON). - Minimum 3–5 years of wound care experience, preferably in post-acute care, SNF, or long-term care settings. - Strong working knowledge of wound care products, treatments, and regulatory requirements. - Proven experience in staff education, training, and clinical program development. - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and manage a regional schedule effectively. - Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation.
