Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

• Responsible for timely and accurate completion of regulatory required statutory reporting, including the Annual and Quarterly Statements, MD&A, statutory audited financial statements and any associated filing. • Support coordination and preparation of certain GAAP, quarterly and annual statements; and related analysis, including, but not limited to related footnotes and analytics. • Prepare analysis and utilize reporting tools to obtain information from the general ledger (Oracle) and/or financial data warehouse as required to assist with the reconciliation and analytic duties related to position. • Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations including supporting analysis when applicable • Support compliance with internal control procedures and documentation of controls (i.e., Review and approval control binders) • Support internal and external (EY) audits and statutory insurance department examinations, as needed. • Pursue path of continuous process improvement (including automation) opportunities to identify and provide recommendations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ year of relevant experience in sophisticated accounting environment
- Insurance experience a plus
- CPA or pursuing CPA Preferred

Role Description We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Livestock Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for underwriting, administering, and servicing livestock insurance policies written under federally reinsured livestock insurance programs. This position ensures policies are underwritten in accordance with RMA program handbooks, actuarial documents, underwriting procedures, and SRA requirements. The Livestock Underwriter supports agents and insureds through technical expertise, policy review, and program guidance while maintaining underwriting quality, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. - Review and underwrite livestock insurance applications, policy changes, and endorsements in accordance with RMA Livestock Program policy provisions, underwriting rules, and actuarial documents. - Evaluate eligibility, insurable interest, livestock inventories, and coverage elections for programs including Livestock Risk Protection (LRP), Livestock Gross Margin (LGM), and other approved livestock products. - Ensure compliance with applicable policy terms, Special Provisions, actuarial tables, and RMA underwriting procedures. - Validate policyholder reported data including ownership documentation, production records, and livestock inventory records to ensure accuracy and insurability. - Maintain working knowledge of RMA Livestock Insurance Standards Handbook, Loss Adjustment Standards Handbook (LASH), applicable underwriting procedures, and associated program bulletins and manager’s bulletins. - Ensure policies are administered in compliance with the Standard Reinsurance Agreement and all applicable federal program requirements. - Document underwriting decisions and maintain audit-ready files consistent with AIP record retention standards. - Identify potential program vulnerabilities, reporting inconsistencies, or compliance concerns and escalate as appropriate. - Serve as a primary underwriting resource for agents regarding livestock program eligibility, policy provisions, and coverage elections. - Provide guidance regarding reporting requirements, sales closing deadlines, coverage endorsements, and policy servicing transactions. - Assist with agent training and onboarding related to livestock insurance program rules and underwriting expectations. - Support agent retention and business development through responsive service and technical expertise. Qualifications - 1–3 years of relevant experience in underwriting, insurance processing, agriculture, or customer service. - Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required. - Crop/Livestock insurance experience is preferred but not required. - Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to convey complex information clearly. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and underwriting systems. - Customer-first mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. - Team player who is flexible, proactive, and eager to learn. - Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities. - Positive team player who thrives in a collaborative work culture.
