Role reports to: Manager Face Treatments R and D Location: North America, United States, New Jersey, Summit Work Location: Hybrid What you will do Kenvue is recruiting for a Scientist Skin Health & Beauty R&D, located in Summit, NJ The Scientist will support the product development of regional and global projects for the facial treatments category. They will work closely with their manager and team to understand how to build and improve our facial treatment pipeline initiatives. They will also partner closely with cross-functional partners to help assess risk and proactively solve obstacles to ensure successful new product launches. Responsibilities include formulation prototype development and batching for stability and aesthetic evaluation, attending project update meetings, maintaining organized documentation, drafting technical reports, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Excellent communication skills together with the ability to manage complexity are must-have prerequisites. Key Responsibilities He/she will develop facial treatment formulations and execute deliverables for regional and global projects while collaborating with cross functional partners to ensure all timeline deliverables are met. Responsibilities of the Scientist: - Formulate new products that incorporate consumer insights and align with the facial treatments brand strategy and pipeline with supervisor oversight. - Conduct Design of Experiments and formulation tasks inclusive of batching and stability. - Provide technical support for product lifecycle management, including post-commercialization support and troubleshooting technical issues. - Proactively identify project obstacles and technical risks, evaluating potential solutions to minimize impact through data-driven decision-making. - Define critical process parameters and collaborate with technical operation partners and manufacturing sites to establish process controls. - Collaborate with cross-functional project team to ensure all project deliverables are met on-time. - Prioritize tasks across projects to meet deliverables and update stakeholders of risks and product launch progress. - Maintain accurate and organized records of project documents, data, and materials. - Draft and complete technical documents, including development summary reports, specifications, and patent filings. - Adhere to established standards and processes (e.g., GDP, GLP) to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Required: - A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience OR a master’s degree with 0-1 years of experience is required. A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Pharmacy, Material Science or other science or engineering discipline is preferred. - Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment while being an individual contributor is required. - Technical writing skills that facilitate the creation of documents that are complete & accurate are required. - MS Office (Word and Excel) proficiency, excellent oral and written communication skills are required. - Effective presentations skills that are used to communicate clearly & informatively are required.​​​​​​​ Preferred: - Experience with consumer products, such as skin care, emulsions, cleansers, hair care, oral care, baby care and/or deodorant products - Good technical foundation of formulated products including emulsions, surfactants, suspensions, structured liquids and an understanding of material chemistry - Experience collaborating with external partners, manufacturing vendors, and suppliers. - Familiarity with cGMP and other regulatory requirements is helpful.​​​​​​​ Other: Must be proficient in the English language.
