• Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for various entities • Provide tax insights, conduct in-depth research, and prepare memos on complex tax issues • Act as a mentor with teammates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth • Review and ensure high-quality tax compliance while adhering to the firm's standards • Prepare complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns as needed • Maintain current knowledge of tax law changes, accounting procedures, and emerging tax issues • Assist in developing and monitoring tax quality control policies and procedures • Contribute to delivering high-quality tax services and planning support • Participate in business development activities and relationship-building efforts
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA or EA (preferred or required depending on candidate; or actively pursuing credential)
- 3–5 years of tax experience, including at least 1–2 years of tax return review experience
- Strong technical tax knowledge, with depth in one or more industries
- Excellent research and technical writing skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, teach, and develop others
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve in complex or time-sensitive situations
- Leadership presence, with a focus on influence and guidance rather than direct supervision

Role Description The Cost Reporting Manager of Franciscan reviews and prepares third-party cost reports and other associated filings, and calculates third-party cost reserves on a monthly and annual basis for all the System facilities. This position also provides ongoing updates, modeling, and recommendations to the Administrative Director Governmental and Cost Reimbursement. This management role has in-depth knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid rules and regulations to prepare the necessary reports for the organization. - Prepare, analyze, and review Franciscan Alliance's annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for accuracy, and make recommendations to optimize Franciscan Alliance's reimbursement under the Medicare/Medicaid program regulations. - Monitor changes in DRG reimbursement; rates, weightings, various indexes, cost outliers, and capital and updates DRG profiles to ensure compliance with the federal register. - Develop system-wide cost reports for socialization with Franciscan Alliance executive leadership. - Conduct multi-year forecasts of government reimbursement programs. - Ensure cost reports are prepared in accordance with federal and state regulations. Role Description Responsible for managing a wide range of US Federal income tax matters including: - Tax planning and optimization - Mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) - IRS controversy - Legislative and regulatory developments - Supporting Home Depot’s tax operation function (i.e., tax provision and compliance) - Other special projects Key Responsibilities: - 80% Tax Planning, Accounting, Research, Compliance, and Audit Defense as needed to meet the goals of the Department. - May serve as principal contact on one or more projects with governmental officials, outside counsel, and business partners. - May lead special studies to determine tax implications of company operations. - May be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely filing of tax returns, and for the accurate statement of accounting reserves, including FAS 109 and FIN 48 where applicable. - May serve as liaison between SSC and subsidiary businesses in the US and internationally. - 10% Participation on cross-functional teams as a subject-matter expert. - 10% Coaching and mentoring of associates in the department. • Prepare and file U.S. sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis • Prepare sales and use tax data for compliance, reconciliations, and reporting • Respond to state and local tax notices and assist with audit inquiries • Support sales and use tax audits by compiling data, reviewing workpapers, and providing documentation • Prepare and manage resale and exemption certificates for customers and vendors • Analyze purchases to determine use tax accrual requirements • Prepare tax-related journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations • Provide analytical support for tax compliance, reporting, and system-related issues • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve tax reporting and compliance issues • Participate in special projects, including tax research, process improvements, and internal reviews
