Role Description It’s no secret that healthcare in today’s world requires lots of digital documentation. Franciscan Health uses the EPIC clinical point-of-care documentation system and we need someone to assist in the alignment and full adoption of electronic health system initiatives. This role requires someone who can create, deliver, and maintain information regarding the informatics program strategies. The Program Coordinator Informatics will perform a leadership role in the coordination of the Medical and Clinical informatics program to assist in the alignment and full adoption of electronic health system initiatives by all levels of clinicians. Placing the patient at the center of focus, the Program Coordinator will engage and lead stakeholders in various governance, work stream and project committees. In partnership with the CMIO and Administrative Director of Clinical Informatics, the program coordinator will create, deliver and maintain information regarding the informatics program strategies, deliverables, and outcomes. Role Description We take the accuracy, completeness and compliance of our medical records very seriously. We require Health Information Management to do the same. This is a true data management job – from compiling reports to presenting analysis in front of upper management. It requires a system data expert with great communication skills and sound judgment. - Assist manager with projects, committees, and activities. - Responsible for all HIM activities related to DNB such as identification and follow-up related to incomplete documentation. - Run departmental statistics, monitor EHR work queues and report any deficiencies, and missing documentation to the appropriate department. - Work with providers and department leadership, to ensure the timely completion of missing documentation elements. - Apply understanding of coding workflows and coding flag use to achieve documentation completion in support of the revenue cycle. - Assist with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and educational material related to documentation completion and the DNFB workflow. - Generate, interpret, and analyze trends and displays and disseminate information, to support decisions and effect process improvements. - Serve as a subject matter expert regarding required documentation elements and content requirements, such as complete physician orders. - Identify and process improvements to the HIM/Coding workflow, especially as it relates to missing documentation and DNB.
