Senior Data Engineer

• Manufacturing operations expertise with a focus on shop floor and production planning • Develop and maintain cloud data pipelines for IoT data • Collaborate with teams to ensure efficient data flow • Analyze and drive improvements in yield, uptime, and efficiency • Work with various industrial protocols and tools to gather and process data

Job Requirements

  • 8–10 years in manufacturing (optional)
  • Hands-on experience in shop floor operations, production planning, and systems including MES, SCADA, and ERP
  • Proficient in industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus)
  • Ability to bridge OT/IT systems for real-time data extraction
  • Applied experience with OEE, Six Sigma, SPC, and lean methodologies
  • Skilled in building scalable cloud data pipelines for high-volume manufacturing and IoT data using Spark, Kafka, Airflow, and Delta Lake
  • Strong SQL and Python proficiency with hands-on experience in medallion/lakehouse architectures on Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or Azure

Role Description The Senior Manager, Data Engineering will play a critical role in revitalizing OTG’s data analytics platform and strategy, transforming how data is leveraged across operations, finance, and guest experience. This role will serve as a hands-on leader responsible for building and modernizing OTG’s data platform, driving scalable data solutions, and enabling real-time insights that power business decisions across the organization. This individual will help define the future state of OTG’s data ecosystem, ensuring it supports growth, operational efficiency, and innovation. - Lead the design and execution of a modern data platform strategy, aligned with OTG’s business goals and growth trajectory. - Drive the revitalization and modernization of data pipelines, data models, and data infrastructure. - Build and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to support high-volume transactional data from POS, operations, and customer systems. - Establish a roadmap for data architecture, data governance, and analytics enablement. - Ensure data systems support real-time insights, operational reporting, and advanced analytics use cases. - Partner with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Operations teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions. - Define and enforce data engineering standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across the organization. - Lead the migration and modernization of legacy data systems into cloud-based platforms. - Oversee data quality, data integrity, and system reliability across the enterprise. - Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, driving performance, accountability, and growth. - Provide hands-on technical leadership, including coding, troubleshooting, and architectural design as needed. - Collaborate with external vendors and partners to support delivery and scalability initiatives.
