Your Role:  We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee the full spectrum of accounting activities for our Japan entity. In this role, you will be responsible for both securities accounting for our regulated securities business and general corporate accounting for the operating company. You will play a critical role in supporting the financial and accounting functions of the Japan entity through regulatory capital management, regulatory reporting, financial close processes, cash management, payment operations, and financial reporting. In addition to calculating and monitoring the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), you will contribute to capital planning and capital strategy development to support business growth and new business initiatives. Working closely with senior management and global finance teams, you will help build and maintain a strong financial foundation that supports sustainable growth while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also collaborate with global finance teams and stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. In our fast-growing startup environment, we are looking for someone who can not only execute core accounting responsibilities with accuracy and ownership, but also contribute to building new processes, supporting system implementations and migrations, and providing accounting and finance support for new business initiatives and product launches.   Things You Get To Do:   - - Securities Accounting - Manage accounting operations for a regulated securities business - Perform accounting for securities transactions and customer assets - Calculate, monitor, and validate the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) - Support the development of capital plans and capital strategies aligned with business growth objectives - Partner with management and global teams on capital management and regulatory capital optimization - Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings to the Financial Services Agency (FSA), Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA), and other regulatory bodies - Support accounting and finance activities related to regulatory compliance requirements General Accounting and Finance - Manage general accounting operations for the corporate entity - Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes - Oversee payment operations, including invoice processing and employee expense reimbursements - Manage cash flow and treasury activities - Prepare financial statements and supporting accounting schedules Other Responsibilities - Support accounting system implementation and migration projects - Provide accounting and financial support for new product and service launches - Contribute to the improvement and standardization of accounting operations in collaboration with the global finance team Who You Are (Must-Haves): - Hands-on accounting experience within a securities firm - Hands-on general accounting experience within a corporate environment - Experience managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes - Knowledge of financial accounting and management accounting principles - Knowledge of, or practical experience with, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) calculations and regulatory capital requirements - Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English - Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills - Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders   Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):   - Experience working in a global company or multinational team environment - Experience leading ERP or accounting system implementation and migration projects - Experience driving process improvement and operational standardization initiatives - Experience supporting accounting and finance activities for new business initiatives or product launches - Experience working in a startup or high-growth company environment Languages - English: Business-level proficiency or above - Japanese: Business-level proficiency or above Employment Conditions - Employment Type: Full-time - Location: Japan (remote-friendly; expected to attend the office approximately 1–2 times per week) - Working Hours: Flexible working hours.
