Role Description GDIT is seeking an experienced Training Specialist to support federal environmental programs focused on Class VI Underground Injection Control (UIC) permitting. The ideal candidate will be adept at designing and leading training sessions and will possess strong skills in data analysis, technical document review, and administrative support for webinars, trainings, and workshops. This role will contribute to multidisciplinary teams delivering high-quality, compliant work products under government contracts, ensuring that environmental data and findings meet all client, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Some travel to support data collection related to federal regulatory requirements is anticipated (10-15%). Key Responsibilities - Training Lead and Stakeholder Engagement - Plan and facilitate training sessions for applicants seeking approval from EPA for Class VI UIC permits. - Develop and present scientific and technical materials for permit applicants. - Serve as a technical liaison supporting agency communications, training, and outreach initiatives. - Respond to data-related questions from trainees and permit applicants. - Data Analysis - Spot-check data for accuracy and completeness. - Verify calculations and formulas. - Document methods and assumptions for auditability and reproducibility. - Technical Writing and Reporting - Prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate deliverables including reports and data summaries in compliance with contract and client requirements. - Ensure all documentation meets QA/QC and contract deliverable requirements (e.g., Section 508 compliance, formatting standards). - Administrative Project Support - Track project milestones, deliverables, and schedules to ensure timely and compliant submission of work products. - Coordinate and schedule webinars, trainings, and workshops, including reserving virtual meeting platforms and confirming dates with presenters and participants. - Provide participant support before and during events by answering questions and troubleshooting basic technical issues (audio, video, connectivity). - Set up and manage virtual meeting features (waiting rooms, breakout rooms, polls, recordings, chat/Q&A). - Conduct post-event follow-up, including distributing recordings and materials, and administering continuing education credit documentation. - Maintain accurate records of participants, attendance, and feedback, and prepare summary reports to support ongoing program improvement. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. - 5+ years of professional experience leading trainings and supporting environmental analysis, research, or compliance projects. - Strong analytical skills and proficiency with environmental data. - Excellent technical writing and editing skills with experience developing government deliverables or reports. - Comfortable and confident with public speaking. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a contract-driven environment. - U.S. citizenship required.
