Our Venture Scouts are crucial in identifying, researching, and highlighting promising companies, markets, and operators that align with our strategic goals. This opportunity is offered on a contract/temporary basis and is fully remote, providing flexibility and the chance to work from anywhere. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain or expand their experience in venture scouting, deal sourcing, market research, and business development. While prior experience in venture capital is not required, a strong commercial curiosity, organizational skills, and a quick learning ability are essential for success in this role. - Conduct thorough research on startups, private companies, industries, founders, and market niches. - Compile and build lists of promising companies, key operators, potential investors, and partnership opportunities. - Analyze and review company websites, public signals, funding activities, hiring trends, and overall market positioning. - Prepare concise, informative summaries of targeted companies and industries, articulating their strategic fit within our objectives. - Support initial outreach efforts and follow-up communications with founders, business operators, and professionals focused on investments or acquisitions. - Identify and report on patterns and trends that signal emerging business opportunities and investment prospects. Qualifications - Strong ability to conduct independent online research and gather relevant data effectively. - Excellent written communication skills, with the capability to produce clear and concise reports. - Proven organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. - Ability to work autonomously and maintain self-motivation in a fully remote environment. - Commercial acumen and a keen interest in startups, venture dynamics, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. - Comfortable handling multiple tasks simultaneously and adaptable to changing priorities. - Previous experience in market research, business development, or a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
