Role Description The Vice President, Performance Management and Planning, owns the enterprise business planning and performance management operating model. This leader is accountable for translating strategy into measurable drivers, delivering accurate and actionable forecasts, and ensuring the organization operates with a clear, integrated, and data-driven view of performance. This role partners closely with executive leadership across Sales, Operations, Collections, Product, Finance, and Business Intelligence to align strategic priorities, operational execution, and financial outcomes into a single, coherent narrative that drives enterprise decision-making and report to the Chief Business Office. The VP establishes the frameworks, governance, and capabilities required to scale planning, forecasting, and performance management as core organizational disciplines. Outcomes and Activities: - This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to our Southfield, Michigan office may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at our Southfield, Michigan office if requested by the team member. Enterprise Planning & Forecasting - Own the enterprise planning and forecasting operating model, including long-range planning, annual planning, and rolling forecasts. - Translate business strategy into driver-based models that connect operational activity to financial outcomes. - Ensure alignment across strategic priorities, operational plans, and financial targets. - Deliver accurate, forward-looking forecasts that enable confident decision-making. Performance Management & Insights - Establish and lead the enterprise performance management framework, including KPIs, success metrics, and accountability models. - Deliver clear, actionable insights on performance drivers, risks, and opportunities. - Enable leadership to course correct through data-driven decision-making and transparency. - Ensure consistency and clarity in how performance is measured across the organization. Reporting & Data Enablement - Own the enterprise reporting strategy, ensuring reporting is streamlined, scalable, and decision-focused. - Partner with Data and Technology teams to enable modern reporting and analytics capabilities. - Drive transformation toward automated, self-service, and insight-driven reporting environments. - Ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability of key business drivers. Initiative Performance & Value Realization - Establish standardized approaches for sizing, prioritizing, and evaluating business initiatives. - Ensure transparent tracking of initiative performance against targets. - Provide executive visibility into progress, outcomes, risks, and return on investment. - Reinforce accountability for delivering measurable business impact. Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership - Partner with executive leadership to shape planning assumptions, priorities, and performance expectations. - Align cross-functional stakeholders to a unified view of business performance and drivers. - Influence enterprise decision-making through clear, concise, and fact-based communication. - Build and lead a high-performing planning and performance management capability across the organization. Success Metrics - Accuracy and reliability of operational forecasts. - Alignment between operational drivers and financial outcomes. - Reduction in planning cycle time and increased agility. - Adoption and effectiveness of reporting and performance management tools. - Measurable impact of initiatives against committed targets. Qualifications - Deep understanding of operational drivers and their financial implications (e.g., revenue, cost drivers, unit economics). - Expertise in driver-based forecasting, scenario modeling, and performance management frameworks. - Strong data and analytical capabilities, including working with large datasets and translating insights into action. - Knowledge of modern reporting, planning, and analytics platforms. - Ability to connect data, systems, and business processes into a cohesive performance management ecosystem. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, computer science, or related discipline). - 10+ years of experience in business planning, FP&A, operations, or related fields. - Proven experience leading enterprise planning, forecasting, or performance management functions in complex environments. - Strong understanding of operational drivers, financial modeling, and performance metrics. - Demonstrated ability to build and scale planning and performance management frameworks. - Experience driving reporting and analytics transformation to support data-driven decision-making. Preferred - Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, computer science, or related discipline). - Operates seamlessly at both strategic and operational levels, connecting long-term vision to execution. - Brings a structured, driver-based approach to planning, forecasting, and problem solving. - Demonstrates strong executive presence and ability to influence without direct authority. - Challenges assumptions and drives clarity, simplicity, and accountability across teams. - Focused on outcomes, speed, and continuous improvement.
