Director Engineering - Electrical and Controls

CONAGRA

Role Description Reporting to the Sr. Director of Technical Services, you will provide engineering leadership across electrical power, electrical safety, industrial controls, and digital manufacturing initiatives. You will lead technical engineering activities within a matrix organization, including the engagement and direction of external engineering firms, system integrators, and contractors. You will support the development of engineering talent, resolve technical conflicts with internal partners, and maintain strong knowledge of emerging technologies while ensuring corporate standards are established, maintained, and followed. You will also serve as a key liaison between Digital Plant Floor initiatives and Corporate Information Technology data architecture. - Develop and maintain electrical power and industrial controls specifications for equipment and installations across manufacturing sites - Support and advance the electrical power safety program and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements - Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards - Lead the controls obsolescence program, including strategic planning and execution - Provide leadership for industrial controls and automation engineering across multiple sites - Drive Digital Transformation initiatives across all internal manufacturing locations - Lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrix environment - Manage and guide external engineering consultants, system integrators, and contractors - Support the coaching, development, and performance of professional engineering staff - Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges and conflicts - Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and implement best practices where applicable - Ensure corporate engineering standards are consistently developed, maintained, and adhered to by internal and external partners Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred - 10 plus years of progressive technical leadership experience with increasing responsibility - 5 years of experience working directly with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell plant floor electrical and control systems - Experience managing at least 4 direct reports - Direct accountability for large-scale capital projects ranging from $5 million to $15 million - 4 years of experience in food manufacturing environments - Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrix organization - Experience working with external engineering firms and system integrators - Strong understanding of electrical safety, compliance standards, and industrial automation systems - Willingness to travel approximately 30 – 50 percent within North America, depending on project needs - This position is located in Omaha NE, Chicago IL, select field locations or remote locations Denver, CO and east with reasonable proximity (50 miles) to a major airport Requirements - #LI-Remote - #LI-PM2 - #LI-Director Benefits - Health: Comprehensive healthcare plans, wellness incentive program, mental wellbeing support and fitness reimbursement - Wealth: Great pay, bonus incentive opportunity, matching 401(k) and stock purchase plan - Growth: Career development opportunities, employee resource groups, on-demand learning and tuition reimbursement - Balance: Paid-time off, parental leave, flexible work-schedules (subject to your location and role) and volunteer opportunities Compensation Pay Range: $135,000-$200,000.
