Job Description

Business Development Officer

Celtic Bank

• Originate Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, equipment leasing and Asset-Based Lending (ABL) financing transactions for small businesses nationwide. • Develop and cultivate relationships with customers and brokers who market directly to small business owners. • Utilize networking and referrals to generate business leads and identify potential small business owner borrowers. • Develop and expand market penetration in assigned locations and markets. • Demonstrate the value of Celtic Bank’s entrepreneurial lending philosophy and its ability to serve the needs of small business owners nationwide. • Develop marketing and sales strategy in collaboration with the Chief Business Development Officer and Celtic Bank’s marketing group. • Generate leads, develop completed financing applications, submit loan packages to underwriting and present loan credits to Credit Committee. • Recognize target market credit opportunities and present funding solutions. • Obtain customer-signed commitments after loan approval and coordinating the funding of transactions with the Bank’s Operations Group. • Achieve annual production goals. • Active use of Salesforce and other supporting origination systems to support deal flow.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of sales experience in the financial services industry.
  • Strong SBA industry experience preferred
  • Proven sales ability in serving the financial needs of Small Business Owners with ability to expand business opportunities.
  • Proven production of $10MM to $12MM+ per year over the previous three years.
  • Marketing and risk management experience.
  • Strong credit and commercial lending skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analyses and loan structuring.
  • Basic understanding of the SBA Loan Program.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong account relationship management and business development/b2b sales skills.
  • Active referral network preferred.
  • Position may be based in preferred national location.
