Manager - Technical Risk Services, Commercial Auto

Role Description - Oversee the Commercial Auto TRS team, ensuring inspection targets are met on a monthly and annual basis. - Conduct quality assurance audits on TRS field staff at regular intervals, including field performance reviews and report reviews, to ensure that internal standards are being met consistently across the team. - Conduct field surveys to assist underwriting in new business acquisition and account retention, where complexity or other considerations require input at a senior level. - Provide direction, guidance, and technical expertise to the team on complex files. - Organize and execute special projects, including overseeing and reviewing the development of whitepapers, technical guides, and presentations, considering Echelon’s risk appetite and target audiences. - Collaborate with other leaders and departments, including claims, communications, business development, etc., to identify needs and establish strategic priorities of the business. - Lead, direct, and have full accountability for TRS staff with an emphasis on talent management, performance management, and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction. - Assign and monitor work assignments of TRS field staff, ensuring assignments are suited for their technical skillset and experience. Qualifications - At least 8 years experience in commercial auto and trucking risk prevention. - Minimum of 3 years supervising field consultants, assigning inspections, reviewing performance, and conducting coaching or developmental feedback. - Excellent knowledge of PEVL, CVOR, and SMS reports. - Good understanding of hazardous materials industries. - In-depth knowledge of various loss prevention courses, including defensive driving. - At least 5 years' relevant experience, ideally in safety and compliance in the road transport sector. What You Bring - Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other related coursework - At least five years of insurance and risk management experience in construction or related field and experience in managing others. - Industry certifications such as, associate in risk management (ARM), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), or Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) are a positive consideration. - Proficient knowledge of Microsoft O365. - A valid driver's license may be required.
