Role Description The Claims Examiner Property is responsible for commercial and personal property claims on a national level within established authority level. This position involves claims of moderate complexity and severity. - Investigation, evaluation and settlement of claims of moderate complexity and severity, mainly through claims examining with occasional direct handling responsibilities. - Review and analyze policy conditions, provisions, exclusions and endorsements pertinent to a variety of property losses. - Verify loss details and confirm coverage related to assigned claims. - Review amounts on all estimates, invoices and documentation in support of payments. - Document claim files with appropriate particulars of claim and claim handling adhering to claim documentation standards. - Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves on files. - Proactive identification, optimization and coordination of post-loss recovery opportunities, identification of potential sources of recovery and ensure salvage and subrogation opportunities are identified and pursued to minimize claim losses. - Prepare reports to management and reinsurers. - Actively participate in settlement of claims at meetings, conferences, and mediations. - Support all marketing and client/customer service initiatives. - Oversight, monitoring and review of claims activities and services performed by third party claims administrator.
