Job Description

Technical ITAM Analyst, Hardware, Discovery

TD SYNNEX

• Support the day-to-day execution of IT Asset Management by collecting, maintaining, and validating asset data. • Identify risks and discrepancies, ensuring that ITAM processes are followed consistently. • Translate defined ITAM policies and processes into accurate operational data that supports compliance, cost control, and decision-making. • Use Flexera to identify and fix data discrepancies; ensure hardware models, serial numbers, and technical specifications are correctly categorized and mapped. • Monitor the health of Flexera agents and beacons across the global estate; identify blind spots where hardware is not reporting and work with local IT to restore visibility. • Act as the first point of contact for regional ITAM representatives; provide them with technical guidance on how to correctly update asset statuses and use the global toolset. • Perform regular reconciliations between Flexera and ITSM (EasyVista) to ensure hardware lifecycle states are synchronized. • Create technical reports on asset health, hardware age, and discovery coverage to help the Manager identify risks and areas for improvement. • Assist in the technical "offboarding" of equipment, ensuring that retired assets are properly decommissioned in the system and data is wiped/verified according to policy.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using Flexera One or FlexNet Manager (specifically the Hardware/ITAM modules).
  • Strong ability to investigate why a device is missing from discovery tools (checking logs, network connectivity, or agent status).
  • Familiarity with how tools like InTune, Nagios, or SolarWinds collect and report hardware inventory data.
  • Proficient in Excel (lookups and pivots are your best friends) and basic SQL to pull and compare datasets from different sources.
  • You have a natural instinct for spotting "bad data" (e.g., duplicate serial numbers or mismatched hardware specs).
  • Enjoy working with diverse teams across different time zones.
  • You are comfortable digging through complex data until you find the root cause of a technical discrepancy.
  • You can explain a technical process or a data requirement clearly to local IT staff who may have competing priorities.
