• Supervising and reviewing sales and use tax compliance work • Overseeing nexus analyses, taxability determinations, and registration requirements • Reviewing exemption certificate processes, resale documentation • Managing and prioritizing team workflows • Serving as a technical resource for staff • Reviewing workpapers, reconciliations, and filings for accuracy • Handling client communications related to compliance questions • Assisting with audit support • Drafting or reviewing penalty abatement requests • Supporting technology implementations • Monitoring changes in sales and use tax laws • Supporting onboarding and training of new team members • Coordinating with managers and partners

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed
  • Masters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not required
  • At least 4 years of public accounting experience
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills
  • Ability to travel as needed

About the role We are looking for a talented Transfer Pricing Director to join our Tax team. In this role, you will play a central part in building and scaling Anthropic's global transfer pricing function as we expand internationally. Reporting to the Head of Transfer Pricing, you will own key workstreams across transfer pricing strategy, compliance, and documentation — working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure our intercompany arrangements are robust, defensible, and aligned with evolving global standards. This role requires deep transfer pricing expertise, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to execute complex projects in a fast-moving environment. Responsibilities Design and implement transfer pricing policies and intercompany pricing frameworks in coordination with the Head of Transfer Pricing Lead the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, including master files, local files, and country-by-country reports across multiple jurisdictions Draft and manage intercompany agreements in collaboration with Legal Support the transfer pricing aspects of complex transactions, including M&A, restructurings, and new business initiatives Assist in the initiation and management of Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) and support the team through transfer pricing audits, including managing responses to tax authorities Identify, document, and support uncertain tax positions related to transfer pricing Build and maintain transfer pricing models and economic analyses to support pricing decisions and compliance Support quarterly and year-end close processes related to transfer pricing Manage relationships with external transfer pricing advisors and coordinate multi-jurisdictional engagements Monitor developments in global transfer pricing rules, including OECD guidelines, U.S. IRC §482 regulations, and country-specific changes, and communicate implications to internal stakeholders Collaborate with Accounting, Finance & Strategy, Legal, HR, and other departments on intercompany pricing strategies Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities in transfer pricing workflows and documentation You may be a good fit if you have 10+ years of transfer pricing experience, including experience in a leadership or senior individual contributor capacity Strong, hands-on familiarity with OECD transfer pricing guidelines/initiatives and U.S. IRC §482 regulations A degree in a relevant field, such in a law degree (JD and/or LLM) or a degree in a quantitative field, such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Statistics (advanced/graduate degrees are a plus) Solid quantitative economic analysis skills A reputation for being a diligent self-starter Experience preparing or overseeing transfer pricing compliance/documentation across multiple jurisdictions The ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong project management skills and comfort working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment Strong candidates may also Have experience working at a fast-growing technology company or advising tech companies on transfer pricing matters Bring a keen interest in automation and process efficiency as applied to tax and compliance workflows Be passionate about Anthropic's mission to build safe, transformative AI systems The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
