Role Description This course is a focused introduction to social innovation in education designed with the assumption that you have little or no business or enterprise experience. Social innovators engage in the process of Human Design to develop and deploy effective solutions to challenging social and environmental issues. Using a Human Design Process, students are exposed to the full process of idea generation to the development of innovative approaches in education. Although the focus is developing a new innovation in education, the course will also serve those who are interested in careers in schools or other organizations by orienting them towards a process of developing a new social innovation. Role Description This course explores the ways that social media influences approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment. Through theoretical inquiry, students engage with social media and digital tools to explore the ethical considerations and various strategies to develop critical thinking. Emphasizing inclusivity and equity, the course examines social media’s influence on social, cultural, and environmental impacts.
