Principal, Electrical Engineering

NORR

Role Description We are currently seeking a motivated and highly collaborative Principal of Business Development within our Engineering Studio. As a Principal, you will have overall responsibility for the growth, management, and profitability of the sector. You will lead the strategic direction from a regional perspective and liaise with other regional and global leaders to collaborate on initiatives. You will prepare annual forecasts based on the market climate and objectives of the sector, make adjustments throughout the year as necessary and report on their results on a regular basis to senior management. Candidates may be located across Canada. Responsibility for acquiring work with fees totaling more than $2M is typical for this level. Duties and Responsibilities - Identify, analyze and pursue potential business opportunities with existing and prospective clients to maximize growth and increase market share. - Prepare, implement and oversee the sector marketing plan according to corporate growth objectives for the year. - Set realistic and attainable goals for business development; monitors progress on a regular basis. - Liaise with senior management teams to develop and implement strategic planning initiatives to increase growth, geographic expansion, and market diversification. - Ensure appropriate coordination and communications within studios in collaboration with Studio Managers. - Assume a liaison role with other regional groups to align standards, capabilities and strategic direction. - Perform continual reviews and makes recommendations on business procedures and methods of practices. - Monitor the competitive landscape to ensure in-depth knowledge of factors affecting the marketplace and develops action plans to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate the impact of risk on the business. Qualifications - Education: B.Arch or M.Arch - Knowledge: Architectural design and presentation; M&E and structural building systems, permit and building codes - Membership with a relevant professional association is an asset - Prior Experience in strategic development, business development, project management and client management is required - Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility and resourcefulness - Ability to obtain security clearance Requirements - 12-15 years' experience Benefits - Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $200,000 /annually Company Description NORR is an employee-owned global architecture and engineering firm.
