Engineering Manager – Billing Unit

• Lead a focused backend engineering team (~5 engineers) responsible for the Billing domain • Own delivery of the Billing Platform, including core billing orchestration logic and smart routing capabilities for financial operations • Own delivery and evolution of the Statistics service: video tracking, premium views calculations, trending calculations (videos/photos/actors/channels), and creator analytics (views, watch time, likes, premium seconds watched) • Own delivery and evolution of the Affiliates service: affiliate attribution/tracking and export of video feeds including affiliate link parameters • Own the premium budget calculation and distribution to creators (creator income per video) • Own the creator invoicing, payouts, and reconciliation workflows • Own the internal contractor invoice generation workflow (with payouts executed by accountants) • Drive design and evolution of payment and billing workflows, ensuring correctness, idempotency, consistency, and fault tolerance end-to-end • Partner closely with Product Manager and Tech Lead to translate fintech requirements into clear technical plans and realistic delivery roadmaps • Own execution predictability for the team (sprint planning, delivery commitments, scope management, quarterly planning) • Establish and maintain engineering processes that support reliable delivery (code reviews, incident handling, retrospectives, post-mortems) • Maintain high standards for financial system quality, including auditability, traceability, and data correctness • Build a strong, ownership-driven engineering culture with high accountability and attention to detail in fintech systems • Provide clear, structured reporting on progress, risks, and priorities to Engineering Leadership
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering management experience leading backend teams (5+ engineers)
- Strong background in backend engineering with ability to deeply understand distributed systems and architecture trade-offs
- Experience working with financial systems, billing systems, payment flows, or transactional platforms
- Experience with analytics/statistics pipelines and/or creator monetization domains (e.g., attribution, revenue share, payouts, invoicing) is a strong plus
- Proven ability to lead teams delivering mission-critical, high-reliability systems
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and engineering execution practices
- Ability to evaluate technical decisions and challenge architecture when needed
- Strong communication skills with ability to align engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders
- English B2+ or higher
